Please update if you find a way. Very useful on my boat. I have a big rat's nest of bungees now.
Shock cord is easy to come by, but they must use a heating technique to seal those clamps. Clever product, tks for posting.

Are those the 3 foot or 5 foot Loops?
LoopRope makes 3 and 5 foot ropes, I have the 5 foot ropes. :eyebrows:

tell me about it, i hate filling up.. at least we don't own Tundra's lol
i drove my mothers GS350 around for awhile and filled it up for her.. was amazed at the lower price being used to filling up my 4runner.. not only that.. that thing gets like 23-25 city and at times up to 30mpg on the highway with 303HP!!!!!! lol

What gen GS? Current? The new GS and IS look phenomenal. I'm really, really considering one when a wagon isn't so necessary. (And when I'm done saving the world in my Prius, hehe)

I had to drive up to Maine tonight. Even with my lift, tires and the added weight of my skids and sliders, I averaged 20.4 mpg(from the onboard mpg readout). At one point it hit 20.7. Not quite sure how accurate it is but I was surprised. I just set the cruise control at 65 mph. No need to drive it like a sports car as I wasn't in any hurry.
My main goal is to do this on the cheap and secondary goal was to buy items from local stores. Found some 1/4 inch shock rope at REI for .25 a foot. (20 feet = $5)
That was it, couldn't find anything local that was strong enough to secure the rope together. A few automotive stores and a hardware store.
Searched online for heat shrink wraps and tubing and came across a few options. First thing to figure out was what type of material to use. I think I have narrowed it down to Elastomer or Polyolefin. Before ordered anything I ran down to the auto store and picked up some Cold Shrink Tape.
I wanted to see if I could pull out the rope... well, it came out.
So now I know just putting on a heat shrink wrap/tube around probably will not suffice.I found some heat shrink material that has a glue on the inside but still don't think this will hold on its own. Invalid Request (shows invalid URL but link appears to work)
Anybody have any ideas on what to use to secure the rope from slipping? Staples?
Also... tried out zip ties and that seems to hold it pretty well but then even after you cut off the extra, there is still some protruding plastic from it.

I also ordered some knotbones from Nite Ize to possibly use for one end or both.

Those wheels look surprisingly good without the "rim" installed.
I washed my 4Runner yesterday. Hard to get a good look at the Silent Armors on a white truck.
I had them off when I mounted them and thought they looked good. Maybe some set screws that sit flush would finish the look without the "bling-ring".
