What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Looks fun! Did you guys go down the same way you went up? Or did you follow the 2nd half of Eagle Rock?

Came back the second (Western) half. I've never actually done the Eagle Rock Trail

Spent some hours up on the trails with [MENTION=98117]comtn4x4[/MENTION]. Was finally able to summit Baldy! 4th time's a charm. Sorry, mostly poser shots as we were to busy to get some good action pics. Hopefully he'll chime in with some of his. Was great to meet you Alec!

I am not sure my pics are better. To busy driving for sure. Was a great day on the trails and in the mud. Patrick spotted a vehicle (jeep?) way down off a drop off. The pics aren't great but it looks to be recent. I wonder if the walked away... Great to met you Patrick! We wil head out again soon.

Indeed we will! And for the record, those pics don't so the grade and distance of that drop any justice. That was damn near straight down and I wouldn't be surprised if it was well over 500 feet down to that truck.

Oh, and now that I know what you do, I'm going to have to bring the grill next time haha :bigok:

Nothing major. Mounted my Hi-Lift to my roof rack. My fine furry friend assisted in all aspects.

Installed some GT seat covers and a retractable cargo cover/tonneau.

Also picked up a Hitch Haul Sport cargo carrier from Wally World for $60 ... should work fine for hauling greasy lawn equipment and dead deer.

I would say if anyone was in that JEEP when it went down, they are no longer living. That's something I always wonder about the vehicles I see that have fallen off of trails - was it some poor bastard that tried the trail in conditions they shouldn't have, or is it some old scrap vehicle that was pushed off the side.

It was hard to tell from the 5-700 feet up, but it appeared to have been in good shape...aside from the obvious. I am hoping that the poor bastard either got out or wasn't in it. I have been on that trail in conditions less than passable before and come way to close to comfort while winching it forward slowly to turn around (nobody in the truck [I made them all get out] and me reaching in the drivers side window on the uphill side to work the wheel)

I know what you mean, but I'm bored, so I was looking at some maps. It is my understanding that the 2nd half of Baldy is part of Eagle Rock, and heading west from the Mt Almagre shelf road turnoff (the blue flag on the 1st pic) is the 2nd half of Eagle Rock, which I didn't know. So I guess technically, you could say you've done it...

Also, I was looking at your pics again and I didn't realize when I was up there how red the rock is. Maybe because I went on an overcast day, IDK?

Installed Budbuilt Skids

Took me about 4 hours with no floor jack, only the car ramps in picture and a bit of pure muscle. Not too hard of an install, just some bruised hands to show for it. The gas skid hanger behind the driveshaft is no fun at all!

Prepping for a road trip to Las Vegas on my day off and headed to Costco for the usual bulk purchasing and to fill up on some cheaper gas.

Came home and realized that someone hit my rear bumper while I was wandering the isles for canned soup, contact lens solution and bales of tp.

I'd feel alot better if I had put that dent there off roading instead of some inconsiderate driver at the Costco parking lot blessing my truck for me. Makes me wish I had a metal bumper.

Got my wheels installed today, countersteers with cooper discoverer at3. They are 265/70/17. It feels so much more planted than with the stock limited wheels.

Thanks man! I took the running boards off the day after I bought it. I plan on sliders of some sort. Next is an ome lift or bilstein 5100s with ome or saw rear springs. And then possibly a roof rack.

Will get to it this weekend. I was going to wait for my sliders to arrive, but looking at how good 2011YOTA truck looks I will definitely crawl under there on Saturday!!!

I ordered OPOR sliders for my LE, but I will remove the stock running boards this weekend thanks to you, and eddiebx of course!!!! :thumb:
