What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Got an estimate from the insurance co of the lady who hit me. $1,099.25. He quoted up a new hitch, silver bumper trim cover, and repainting the full rear bumper. Bought some new clips for the silver bumper trim for 4 bucks and will probably just plasti-dip it and call it good.

Soo... what to do with the remaining $1,089.25? I'm really liking those new FN Wheels 17" Five Stars in Matte Bronze. Or possibly some nice sliders and light bar or something.

Suggestions?

IMO wheels will be the biggest most visible change to see where your money went. I just got a set of Matte Black Stealth SR8s and can't wait to put them on (traveling a bit first) but it should completely change the way the truck looks and with new wheels you'll see them everyday and can appreciate the purchase.

Wheels over light bar any day of the week. Unless you are wheeling solo in remote areas (where you might be wheeling at night) or live in a rural enough where you can use them.

For those of you that have one, how do you keep the zippers from contacting paint?

I slid the zippers all the way to the front and installed some rubber hose over the zipper pulls. Unless you plan on using the awning constantly, I would remove it. The sun will take its toll on the pvc cover over time.

Not in techstream. It bases it off of the mileage it has been calculating for some number of miles (not sure exactly how many, but it is >500). You can reset it by disconnecting the battery cable, where it will go to 400 miles on a full tank by default, then work its way down from there.

This stuff kicks ass for that sort of thing, among others, moldable self setting rubber, I have some I have works awesome for zipper pulls, fixing iPhone cables, finger molding, ect. You don't get a lot in a package which is a good thing, since once you open it you have to use it. You would easily get four big zipper pulls out of a single package.

Or well more accurately I removed my rear bumper cover and several bits of metal attached to it so that tomorrow (with help) I can attach my new CBI!
