What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I thought the snowfall was going to be disappointing in this area, too. But that was not the case. More snow than I thought would be up there.

We were trying to get to the Fortune Creek Trail, but could not. So stayed on the Salmon La Sac road north of Cle Elum Lake in the Wenatchee National Forest.

How is Naches? I heard it's kind of difficult and requires a good about of ground clearance and under body armor...

The lil naches old wagon trail you are referring to yes, especially this time of year. But there are hundreds of other trails up that way. We plan/hope to get up to our secret spot and do some ice fishing if we make it. It's around the moon-rocks/funny-rocks area, ever been up that way?

How much did you guys air down? It looks like some more would have helped a lot.

Have not been up that way, but I will check it out.


I aired down to 25psi and I think he went down to 20psi. That mud, icy, snow mess was something else. I don't think airing down further would have mattered too much it was very deep and unexpected, but never know. The winch got him out just fine. There were no other areas where we encountered any real problems with the level we aired down to.

I didn't think it was worth $50 for a piece of aluminum with two bends and some bolt holes. I'm going to get one bent at a shop around town. Or the shipyard where I work.

Put these babies on. Hankook pike rw11 studded snow tires. Never owned snow tires , just got by with A/T's. But I got tired of people with snow tires riding my bumper. These have one season on them , got them for $200. Helps to know the local tire guy. Driving around here in the winter can be nerve racking , but I'm cruising now.

Installed a visor organizer and a couple bags from Blue Ridge Overland and sprayed a couple of cans of Fluid Film underneath. I don't know if it will help or not, but it was so pretty under there when I extended my rear diff breather a few weeks ago that I figured it was worth a shot!

Like you, I was looking to paint my caps black, but I found a member here who had removed their '14 TE racks and was willing to sell the black caps separately.
