What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Got a few new Christmas present installed. AVS bug deflector and window rain guards along with a new Gentex auto-dimming rear mirror with HomeLink. No more having to keep the ugly garage door opener on the visor.

I really like those Alex. You wouldn't happen to remember the part number would you? I have in channel visors and the ones in the rear windows just will not stay put with the windows down.

Thats way better. VLED is sold out of the 24 inch strips right now but they look plenty bright. That switch is pretty cool too. Thanks for the ideas.

How hard was the Gentex mirror install/wiring? Well done btw, I too hate carying my garage door clicker and this is the answer.

If you put that kind of switch, you have to play with the angle that will work best for you, or other people use totally different types of switches......

Took my Trail to the dealer for her 10,000 mile check up and shots.

Got the dealer to change the door unlock settings while I was there, so now it doesn't unlock when I move the gear selector from Drive to Park. Service salesman tried to tell me it'd be "50 bucks" to do it, but he'd check with the techs to see if they'd do it for "free." I said thanks, but no thanks. If you're going to charge $50 to hook up the computer and press a few buttons, I'll pass. I can do it myself for cheaper. They ended up doing it at no charge.

I also picked up the parts needed to remove the roof rails, and the parts needed for the Rear Differential Breather Mod. Got a fun weekend ahead of me!

The highlander is appealing but still a little bland for my taste. Sequoia is just too dated for the price. Very interested to see the redesign.

Not that family friendly! Nor could I do beige. I absolutely despise tan interior. Don't hate.. It really came down to my wife always begging for one, it's hers after all. I drive a Lexus GS 350 F Sport. Anyways, just got home with a new, '14 Grand Cherokee Summit. I didn't really love the way 4Runner drove so I didn't blame her for hating it but I will miss it. It looked cool and was as sturdy as a vehicle gets.

I didn't realize how low profile they were going to be but I really like them. Unfortunately it didn't fix the terrible buffeting wind noise when only one window is down. Still look great though.

Install was actually very easy. It came with the complete wiring harness. Only 3 wires, ground and 2 +12v, one for dimmer and one for home link. I just used and add-a-circuit and spliced them in. Didn't remove any panels. Just used a flathead to poke the wires into the gap in the panels. Looks and works great.

Funny, I have homelink but have never bothered to set it up, just carry the garage door opener with me...
