I was looking (just looking, if you are my wife) at sliders, and what does it take to have them shipped then powder coated. I did a search and ended up wasting an hour of my life on a website of a company that repairs and/or powder coats aluminum rims, and nothing else. Maybe you could find a place like that in your neck of the woods.

Long time lurker and just wanted to say your guys 5th gen rigs are absolutely amazing. Whenever one of you is debating selling(I don't know why you would. Maybe for a PRO), but definitely let us 4th gen guys knows when this is an option for you. Other than that carry on and keep modifying your 5th gens!:hatsoff:

Put a deposit down on a set of 275/70/17 BFG A/T KO2 at the Discount. They bought my OE tires and I got a hell of a deal. I can't wait for them to arrive.

Now if I hear back from Drabbit and he gives me good news on the delivery time for a full rack, it will be a good week.

Hey Man - Did you scope out a local Discount (tire) to sell back your stock tires? I'd love to trade in the stock tires for a set of AT3's. I'd be curious how you went about this. Thanks ahead of time.

Hey Eric - I feel your pain - I'm over here in Portsmouth, NH - I'm running out of places to put the snow. Rallying around in 4H has been a blast thought! It's good to know there's another fellow TEP owner in the area.

Matty, I went in first and talked to the first guy at the counter. I discussed what I was looking for (either KO2 or Duratracs) and he worked out a deal with mounting and balancing, replacement certs, etc. I didn't mention trading in my old tires at all.

Then I left and called back and asked to speak to the same guy, and mentioned that a friend had told me that Discount will buy OE tires back to make a deal, and asked if they could do that. I gave him a number out the door that I wanted to pay ($800) and he gave me $50 a tire for the OE's. (I only have 500 miles on them). My total came in at $796 out the door with an additional discount because of my employer (local business). I threw my card down before he could change his mind and they should be in later this week.

I think the key is to make the best deal you can BEFORE you ask if they'll buy your OE tires.

Well no pictures to post yet but scored some original NATO scepter gas cans while TDY to the TN ANG base just have to figure out how I'm getting them back to Vegas, also my FourTreks Hi-Lift mounts came in and new CB and antenna so looking forward to getting that installed when I get home.

LOL!!! It's not that I hate playing in the snow, I'd rather be playing in sand or mud. I'm born and raised in New England and at my age, snow isn't fun any more... it's all eff'n work... I work all day then go home and work all evening cleaning this sh*t up. Time for a warmer climate and wife wants Austin to be that place. Plus, we're both supersport riders and parking the bikes for 6 mos at a time is getting old too.

Jealous of the Gobi rack. It's just not in the cards for me yet.

And I agree with you about the snow. Send it to us in the PNW! We have NO snow, not even in the mountains.

Depending on your location, I'd try to set something up on Craigslist. I listed my stock tires on Craigslist with the caveat that I'd deliver them After my new tires were installed and got $100 each for them with around 500 miles on them. May be something to check out...
