What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Driving to work this afternoon, I passed two transport trucks.

One was full of vehicles that were completely covered with a white cover that had small holes in it for the headlights, a place to look though the windshield and not many more. Also, there were no tell tail logos that I could see, not even on the wheels.
The second ones had more holes cut in the rear glasses.

Then I caught up to this next one in the photo and noticed some range rovers up top on transport carrier. Could I have happened upon some concealed new sports models that the mfg doesn't want seen yet, possibly some spy shots?
Is range rover going to release a sports car 4WD or AWD or were these vehicles just ride-alongs ?.

I don't know, just throwing this out there.

high end luxury car manufacturers have their cars covered to keep them clean during transport. At the end of the street is an Audi Dealership. All Audis come with a car cover on them on the transport carrier.

Yellow lamin-x vinyl over the Phillips led fog lights. They are a touch undersized and because I wasn't quite able to remove the bezels it was a bit of a pain. They definitely aren't perfect, but good enough.

It took almost exactly 6 weeks. I just paid and tried to forget...lol. I set two calendar reminders too...one at 4 weeks and one at 6 weeks. It's amazing how quickly that time goes by.

We been having bad rain storms the past few nights, walked out to the truck this morning, it looked like it had just been washed :clap2: (I haven't washed it in almost a month). So I sprayed tire shine on it. re-torqued all the suspension bolts and wheels, beat out the floor mats. Time for a beer.

Fresh mods!

Just finished installing rigid industries D2 driving led lights. Mounted the brackets on bumper and the rest is history. Really like how they turned out. Also, thanks to eddiebx for this great lil mod. Headlight Bulb Conversion (H11 to H9 & 9005 to 9011). Noticeably brighter light and easy mod thanks to dremel. And last but not least installed my gobi ladder that was for sale however, decided to keep it after all.

Went to the Hollister SVRA while here in CA. And...accidentally found ourselves on a couple of black diamonds due to some wrong turns. That...was interesting.

Definitly on 3 wheels while staring down a steep drop and slightly sliding on the way down. At least I know my butthole is still strong.

I'm going to do a CBI rear bumper this fall, so I'll pull this rim off, clean it up, refinish it, and turn it into my spare wheel when I get a 5th Nitto Trail Grappler.

200 dollars for a new rim. Big deal. Narrowly avoiding pinning the truck against a tree and coming out victorious was worth the cost of some cosmetic damage on a replaceable part.

The choice was a crazy big drop onto moguls or sliding down a steep embankment. Car went a big sideways but we made it, was definitely on 3 wheels for a few parts. And nearly put a tree into the left quarter panel during the controlled slide. So the most that came out of that was a scratched up rim.

There's places in Portland that'll be able to repair that cheap. Local dealer has TRD rims for 200.00, so I just ordered one, and will swap them out, have the scratched up one repaired, and set it aside for the CBI bumper project. I had to get a good rim for the 5th tire anyways.

I spent 200 and had a blast with my father riding shotgun, no real damage to the vehicle and it got the adrenaline flowing.

Seriously though, a wheel is easy to replace versus many other things you could have messed up. At some I should do something about my rear bumper damage, haha.
