What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

It's been an interesting ride for me. I had a 2012 Limited and traded it in for a GX460 because I felt the 5th gen was too slow. Then my wife and I decided to become a one income family after we had our first son so I needed something I could buy with cash. I found this 4th gen with blown shocks, a ruined sunroof and other issues like a mouse nest in the engine etc and got it all fixed up! I should have just stuck it out with my 5th gen but here I am
You're still in a significantly better price bracket than the gen5. I don't think there's enough improvement to warrant the extra expense. I miss our 06 limited, though I never liked the black on black, especially in the AZ heat.
They're great family cars, though. I haul my 2.5yr old all over the place in my '11, but though it's got a locker, it doesn't have the ride, roominess or balls of that mighty v8.

Metaltech OPOR Sliders
Perfect weather today to prime and paint the raw sliders bought during the recent group buy. Used POR Metal prep before applying POR 15 Self-etching primer under POR 15 Bed liner. Primer was a rattle can (2 coats) and the bed liner was a combination of brush and roller for 3 coats.
The bed liner is water soluble so very spreadable and took 1 quart to cover both sliders.
Will add pictures post install tomorrow.
Durability data to follow after we hit the rocks.

Hauled gifts from our baby shower. Was my first time loading up the 4Runner and it did well.
After a 15yr hiatus, thinking about getting another Jeep. Took the Ball & Chain in and we checked out/drove a Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock. Huge improvement over my old 2000 Wrangler. Definitely a completely different ride than the 4Runner but it was better than I expected. After having a 2001, 2006, 2011 and my current 2014 Trail Premium, I'm kicking around the idea of giving a Jeep another try. The wife on the other hand prefers the 4Runner as the Jeep is simply too archaic for her taste (she's a Lexus fan).
Gonna think about it over the weekend. Unbelievable how much the Wrangler Unlimited cost these days. Sticker is almost $50k and the interior is light years behind my 14' TEP. :noidea:

Get a Lexus GX460. You can get one sub $50,000. I would drive a Lexus GX460 any day over a Jeep. Maybe not the Hellcat Grand Cherokee... But still... GX460 > Jeep anything

Its referred to as Southern Style Speed Slimline Hybrid Series bumper for the 2014 SR5 and Trail Edition

My truck had all kinds of bangs and dents on the factory skid plates when I got it - and I added a few. I consider the skids cheap insurance to protect the drive train components which could cost many times the price of skids.Is that actually a thing? Please help me justify it to my wife
I'll let you know about mileage, but it'd be really hard to certifiably point any change to the skids.

Spent a few hours removing the wooden lid of my m416 trailer, gotta clean up some adhesive but she's almost there. Getting ready to sell it, gonna use the money I get to get some new shoes for Tundra rims I purchased this past week!
