Painted and installed new RCI skids. Hoping my fuel economy goes up due to less drag underneath. :win:
Looks good! Which skid parts did you buy?
And how was the install? I'm thinking about buying the RCI set too.
I got the whole set. Filler plate, front skid, tranny skid, xfer skid (with included cross member), and tank skid. Their rear diff plate is not suited for KDSS, so I might shop around for one.
Note: you can get a discount of around 10% I believe by ordering 4 or more.
Install was very straight forward. Great fitting, I enjoyed the process a lot. I had a buddy helping, and with my lift didn't bother jacking up the truck. I was on a creeper and he would lay a skid on me and I'd roll under and put it into place.
The hardest part was painting them. Windy and sporadic rain. Not exactly a precision gloss product, though.

Big weekend with the 4runner, drove to Yellowstone National park for a 4day vacation, didnt get many photos of the 4runner doing stuff, just the sites there at the park.
Had a great time even though i now dislike cruise control if using to go through the mountain passes, also saw many other 5th gen and 4th gen 4runners at the park, i wonder if anyone else here was there, i got 2 thumbs up from a white 5th gen and red 5th gen, maybe other members?
Crossed over 10,000 miles! (1700miles for the trip)
Today i did the dues and spent the day cleaning inside and out(even though raining), and doing an oil change

that would be a waste. get a 1" daystar spacer. ride will be the same and it will almost be level
1/4" will add 3/4" in height
Ride will be the same w/ a 1" daystar? Won't that give me 2.5" lift?
buy the spacer according to advertised height dont try to guess. a 1" daystar spacer will give you 1" of lift. a 1/4" top spacer will give you 1/4". You cna also get a custom size from Cornfed. I put a 1" daystar on my 2011 SR5 and it was almost dead level and didn't change the ride. I swapped it out fo rth eDaystar 2.5/1.5 kit and again, ride quality was not affected.

I am considering picking one up again, nice used one for 24K. I also hear now there is a market for making roof racks that needs filled :heh:
