What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

The trail heads west out of Big Pine, goes up into the Sierra. You can find it on maps. It tops out at 10,200 feet just to the North East of Surgarloaf. That is on the edge of Coyote flats, you can follow that north and eventually down to Bishop on Coyote Valley Road. The 4.56 gears are fine on the highway with my 33' BFGs, I can go 80 mph without a problem. We were just saying on this trip that the 4.56s were one of the best mods we have done. You can't beat it in low 1 going down, and low 2 is good for rough uphill normally. In retrospect I might have done the 4.88, as I am looking for low speed and happy if I can cruise at 75 on the highway.

Who did your gears for you? Realistically, 75-80 is more than enough since anything faster is a ticket waiting to happen. Never go faster than 69 between Bishop and Mammoth unless you really want a ticket. I drive LA to Mammoth almost every weekend starting mid-November to April-June.

I saw that on the map...so you came out into Bishop. The trail looks like it starts on either end. Saturday was probably the best day of the summer for clarity as the winds blew much of the smoke out - though it returned Sunday.

Yeah man we squeeze in there like rabbits lol... It's warm and fit now but when the kids get a little older they are going to have to move downstairs into the annex(haven't used the annex yet)

Spent all 10 dollars (plus tax) at Target store on two bath towels which were converted to sit covers by adding some eyelets and bungee cord. :frog:

Every time I'm sliding in and out of the sit I feel my but rubbing hard on the cloth - few years of doing that and I would end up in a big hole on the driver sit. And "normal" old fashion seat covers don't work in new cars with airbags in seats (I don't trust the "airbag compatible sit covers").

Yotamasters did the re-gear and the lockers. They are located in Corona. Excellent reputation here in SoCal from what I have heard, the work they did for me was perfect. No I am not related to them or getting paid to say this...You can see in this photo they put switches for lockers on center console, oriented so easy for me to look down on. Very east to push center switch to activate compressor, then left for rear and right for front.

Received the stuff I ordered from Adventure Tool Company. I got their large shop roll, the medium tarp, and one each of the large and small pouches. [MENTION=55815]Okki[/MENTION] did a write up of the shop roll on his thread a while back. I wanted one ever since

The draw for me is that this will hold all the tools I realistically need (including the tarp) for a wheeling trip but without the rattles of a tool box. The tarp is perfect to throw down on the ground if you need to wrench. I plan to use the pouches inside my action packers to protect my winch controller and keep things like clevis shackles and other small gear from rating around.

First run with it will be this weekend :-D

Just finished installing the WeatherTech Slim wind deflectors. The fitment is perfect!!!

When I bought my t4r, it had leds in all of the interior lights except for the front map (push lights) and with halogen reverse bulbs and license plate bulbs. Basically, I swapped all of the non-led lights for leds.

Just need to get non-halogen high/low beams and fogs and I'll be free from the stock bulbs.

Yeah I weighed in on a scale and it was right at about 600 pounds empty ... I haul all my tough boxes and coolers ....when it's empty, I keep checking the back to make sure the trailer is still there cause I don't feel the weight at all ..., right now with all my stuff in it, which should be around 400 pounds or so, I'm getting 15 MPG traveling .... I like it a lot as a cheaper alternative to the more expensive trailers they have on the market ... this was a Vietnam era trailer that was pulled by those old jeeps for ammo ... Another trailer with around the same dimensions and weight would be a m101 Canadian trailer or bantam trailer ....

My botched surgery has me on the verge of letting the 4runner go. Never expected to be in this situation, but 9 months of no income and 3 to 6 months of no driving. ..I have my 6 yr old son who starts school today and a giant stack of doctor bills I already have to pay. This surgery was suppose to help me but instead made things worse and put me more steps back than forward
...now to see if someone wants to take it over for what I owe on it. It will be a steal of a deal :-(

Maybe after things get settled I'll be able to afford something again. But right now family is first.
