plasti'd up the front badge and added some yella lenses. it should come together much better once the rest of the grill is dip'd how I'm planning. Can you choose texture on line-x yet? Some grit could possibly be ok but I haven't seen much done with it yet on a 4Runner besides on rockers. Still new to the forum so I'm sure as I explore I'll spot it. I'll also be looking into the lift/warranty issue as my local dealership said they'll only do the trd bilsteins with springs for $1699. not installed. What is everyone else doing, blowing their warranties? also looking for a good recommendation on a lift that isn't large and levels the truck out. Not a fan of the dipping nose

Ugh, aftermarket control arm maintenance and broken parts (front or rear) make me sad. Seems so common. Sucks because I'd love to lift my 4R 2.5" - 3" but don't want to deal with having UCAs be a maintenance item (wtf?).

Yes. At one point I had the 4Runner on 3 then 2 wheels traversing a gulch going downhill. Could have happened there as that would of been when the most stress load was on that area. We took several trails that were off the main trails which were a lot more challenging. 4th of July Canyon (supposedly the hardest trail) was fine and not difficult at all, steep but not difficult. Goose Lake trail was fun too, narrow and rocky but leads to a Great Lake and Camping area at 11,700.

That hammer spray paint requires a different technique!

You need to spray heavier coats much closer than normal spray paint to get the pattern. I'm talking close, like 2" away. It's very hard to get it to run, but it's possible!

Next time buy a pint and roll it on, it's much easier, dries faster and doesn't make a mess. The hammered finish hides any roller/bush marks.

If you don't have KDSS you can get away with stock UCAs, though I thought the aftermarket ones were better (like my MOOGs).

Getting ready to r&r my lower BJs and tie rods soon, though. A buddy and I are debating whole control arms or getting the hardware to change the ball joints ourselves and save some ponies.

Sorry for jumping in with a random, but I can't find anywhere else to ask this question. 2012 4Runner, SR5. Anyone have any insights on what to do with the sunglass holder portion of the upper console, between the mirror and my sunroof. The small 'tension gear' that lets the sunglass holder open & close softly, seems to be suspect & the holder will pop open (more and more) sporatically!? can the holder be replaced independently or is it the entire platform that holds buttons & lights etc....

Replaced driver's side wheel bearing hub AGAIN because, dumbass that I am, didn't know you should replace the dust seal on the upright as well. Soooo, my 20k mile wheel bearing went bad.

I had great luck today! 3 YAY's!

#1- Took off the ABS bracket to make pressing-in the seal easier and the bolt snapped in half. Had to drill/tap that for 1.5 hrs. YAY!

#2- After the install, I still have bearing noise. Hmmmm. Called [MENTION=99235]Scott@Hightech[/MENTION] and he filled me in on the fact that sometimes wheel bearings only make noise when NOT under load. Told me how to confirm this (jack up truck and run in 4WD listen for noise) and yup. Passenger wheel bearing bad too/ making noise. YAY!

#3- And...check out this little gem of a video. The cap is supposed to fit VERY tightly. HA! Bearing guy said I'm the first one ever to have this issue. They should be sending me a replacement hub so I can do this all over again. YAY!

Might be able to find a parts diagram online (try Village Toyota) and see what parts are individually replaceable.

Did my 3rd or 4th oil change today thanks to Antman's great writeup.

That's too much like work, I'm getting too old to crawl around on the garage floor, but it felt good when I finished and reset the maintenance counter.

I have been looking at 2 point lifts, and they are getting more attractive.
