After having 10 years of bad experience with Toyota service and lube (list of things that went wrong is quite long) I'm servicing my 4Runned at local Mazda dealer. I had Mazda 5 serviced with them for last 5 years and every single time things were done perfectly. First of all even for simple oil change and tire rotation they use "shop" with real mechanics, not a "drive through" with teenagers like Toyota has.
So while I'm servicing my 4Runner at Mazda place, I traded Toyota dealer license plate frame for Mazda's one. It is not important where I bought the truck, but who takes care of it.
Actually the quality of the new frame is even better. I guess Mazda cares about their reputation in this location.

I've had my 4runners serviced at Thompson's Toyota up in Placerville for the past 10 yeas and haven't had any issues with them. I've been using Thompson's for purchase & service for about 18 years now. I have no complaints and would recommend them. They're certainly not going to be the closest dealer though.
I haven't used any other Toyota dealers in the Sacramento area so I can't really comment or compare.

That was with 95.5 Tacoma 4x4. After the first few oil changes they cross-threaded oil drain plug (next day I discovered an oil under the truck). They refused to replace the oil pan and"fixed" the thread with helicoil. I was sure it will not hold long, so I never touched the plug and was going for oil change only over there till the thread broke. Then they had no excuses anymore and pickup a tab for oil pan replacement (quoted about 900 dollars for parts and labor). When I got new oil pan I never get back there. I was done.
Before I moved to Elk Grove I used Folsom Lake Toyota (where the Tacome came from) and I never had problems with them - they also did oil change inside the shop, not a drive through. Now I have enough tools and experience to do most of the maintenance on my Tacoma at home. I use dealer only for OEM parts. But this 95.5 Tacoma is much easier to work with than with the new modern cars - it has only one ECU, the rest is mechanical.

This weekend I went to the SFWDA meet and ride in Alabama at Choccolocco Mountain off road park. We had some great weather for the weekend! Little cold at night for some ha! I rode along with the easy group seeing as I had never been to an off road park before.
Was able to take some pictures of other vehicles in the group but didn't get any of mine really.
And then a couple pictures of my vehicle that one of the other riders in our group took.
I keep seeing people posting about going to these Off Road Parks but have never seen or heard of anyone going to one in Utah. Anyone know of anything like this in Utah? (besides Moab... I'm aware of Moab. Haha)

I think because Utah is basically one big off road park itself! Most of these are on the east coast where they don't have access to public offroading like out west.
Even the Moab trail guides have trails that are pretty far away from the town itself. Check out Traildamage.com for stuff outside Moab, looks like a lot on the south half of the state. Otherwise I would have to think there is plenty of trails in the north as well...

That has changed a lot in the last 25 years.
Quite a few places i used to visit regular are closed because stupid f'ks don't mind the trails, start tearing up the countryside, creating new roads that don't even make any kind of sense, or high marking on fragile desert terrain. Not to mention the whole f'k stick side-by-side crowd is exacerbating the issue. Like they don't even know wtf "tread lightly" even is.
I am actually a little envious of some off the off-road parks I have seen. Kinda reminds me of the ski resort, you have some rated and looks like maintained (too a certain extent) trails. I totally like the "openness" around here, regrettably, I fear in the not too distant future that will become a thing of the past.

To me, nothing beats the wide open spaces and places out west for wheeling, from someone who loves the east coast. But I get what you are saying, people not respecting and taking care of the land will continue to ruin it for the rest of us... Heck I was just in Moab last weekend and I was astonished how busy it was for November. Last time I was there this late was about 14 years ago and it was a ghost town past Sept.

I was there a month ago and can concur. The trails were pretty busy, but not overly so. The most annoying thing was the damn Razrs. I think the typical Razr driver's brain only knows stopped or full throttle. Those things are going to get every trail known to man closed some day. And don't even get me started on Easter Jeep Safari. At this point I think having hundreds of Jeeps in one place does more harm than good. Offroading, like every other outdoor activity has exploded in popularity over the past 20 years or so.
