Got my 2016 Trail Premium on Friday of last week...

and immediately took it to Austin for a weekend of business/pleasure.

Got my running boards installed today and tinted my (front) windows.

i keep seeing people posting about going to these off road parks but have never seen or heard of anyone going to one in utah. Anyone know of anything like this in utah? (besides moab... I'm aware of moab. Haha)

i think because utah is basically one big off road park itself! Most of these are on the east coast where they don't have access to public offroading like out west.

that has changed a lot in the last 25 years.

Quite a few places i used to visit regular are closed because stupid f'ks don't mind the trails, start tearing up the countryside, creating new roads that don't even make any kind of sense, or high marking on fragile desert terrain. Not to mention the whole f'k stick side-by-side crowd is exacerbating the issue. Like they don't even know wtf "tread lightly" even is.

I am actually a little envious of some off the off-road parks i have seen. Kinda reminds me of the ski resort, you have some rated and looks like maintained (too a certain extent) trails. I totally like the "openness" around here, regrettably, i fear in the not too distant future that will become a thing of the past.

To some people, "tread lightly" means don't leave ruts more than 12" deep.

There are a few "public" off-roading areas around here, but they are under constant attack. Legally, most are already closed and/or private land, but people go anyway and enforcement is rare. I'm a proponent for keeping public areas public, but based the damage done by the local rednecks, if I were the land manager even I would want the off-roading stopped. Do a youtube search of "Aetna Mountain TN" (TWRA and private land with little enforcement) or "Off Road Big Fork TN" (all private land, but the local rednecks insist it's public).

There are several off-road parks within a few hundred miles of me, but there used to be more. They are under constant attack from tree-hugger types. That said, some deserved to be shut down. One was basically a series of red clay mud pits that was constantly dumping loads of silt into the local creeks.

The good parks are like ski resorts. They have "green" trails that range from graded gravel roads to mild rocks that are used to traverse the park with any stock vehicle, all the way to "black diamond" trails that require any number of extras (minimum wheel size, lockers, 4-point harnesses, winch, exo-cage, etc.). But you are required to stay on the trails as opposed to randomly tearing everything up.

Took my mother and daughter through the famous "Three Feathers" after failing to make it through several times. Only hit the skids 7-8 times.
Came up over a boulder with a little too much gusto, came down HARD on my sliders. I'd show a pic, but all you'd see is an inch long scuff.

Escaped the downpour on the west side again and hit the Deschutes. Not a soul on the lower river, and not a fish to be found. No worries, just glad to be out getting dusty. Big storm on the way home rinsed it all off so I will have to go back this weekend...

Nothing too fancy. Just inserted the latest DVD navigation map disc, Gen 6 U96 14.1.

Love it. Both burners put out the same amount of power and the adjustability is amazing. I think my only complaint is that the windscreen is riveted in place, so my plan to remove it when it's in my chuck box is not going to work out.

But it's built like a tank. It's one of those buy it for life products.

Yes. Do put the clear film under the faring or the vibration and dirt will eat through the paint.

Stuck in traffic this AM and a Dude that works for Toyota bursts out of a new dealer Tundra in front of me, runs back and says "I love what you have done to your 4Runner, it represents Toyota well, have a hat!" Jumps back in his truck and drives away! Coolness factor of 10!

Looks like a great escape! Your 4Runner is set up great, I still need to swing by and meet you at your shop, my leg is finally healing up after a second repair surgery and I'm finally getting out and around. Definitely need to to get set up for some of that Deschutes Steelie fishing you are doing there! How's the fishing?
