That's an older style, black and yellow California license plate on your TRD Pro. How did you get that? Have you had that plate for a long time? And how did you apparently buy a 2016 in September of this year, according to the license tags?

The black is a heritage plate you can get at the DMV now. I found it at a dealership and I purchased it. It's pretty normal to find the next model year vehicles towards the end of the previous years.

where can I find a tent like that and do you have any issues likes or dislikes?

Google "roof top tent" or "RTT". There are several manufacturers.

Advantages:
- keeps you off hard, rough, or muddy ground;
- bedding is stored in place so it can be much thicker/more comfortable;
- most can be assembled in the rain while keeping the interior (and stored bedding) dry;
- keeps you away from four- or no-legged nasty critters;
- they can be small to quite large with overhangs, and some include enclosed and covered space at ground level (basically a 2-story tent).

Disadvantages:
- they are still somewhat rare in the USA;
- they are crazy expensive;
- you need a full flat roof rack to support one, which is also expensive (I think);
- it's sitting in the full sun all day, and is above a hot vehicle, so it can be hot on summer evenings;
- they add mass (rollover) and wind resistance up high;
- unless you are male you have to climb down a ladder to "do your business".

I want one... but I currently don't go camping enough to justify it, so it's way down on a list of things I want more.

There are many, MANY roads like this in that area haha. It's always fun taking different routes to the same destination. It was great down there this weekend, friends, food, beer, and a stuck Ford... What more could you ask for!?

[MENTION=68685]Ducmonsta[/MENTION] and I did mine (I have Wet Okoles) and we didn't disconnect the battery if I remember correctly and didn't have any issues. Just slide the covers off the bolts and the base of the seats, unbolt, unplug and remove. makes life way, WAY easier to work on them.

I sorta got mine on today. The bottoms aren't quite right but I think I'll let them sit for a few days and readjust. I didn't remove the seats today either....just afraid of messing up the airbags or having one go off and punting my ass across the driveway. Not even sure if that's possible but with my luck....

The covers I got (Precision Fit) have two straps/buckles that go from the bottom front to the bottom back and two that go from the top front to the bottom front. Then there are two velcro straps that go from side to side. those are impossible to get in place. I spend the better part of the morning laying on the back seat, head down in the foot well, and arms under the seat to get thing sorted out. And I still couldn't get the velcro down between the electric seat adjustment. I'll sort it all out sooner or later. I know when I put the same brand of covers in my Tacoma I took the seats out and it was much easier - but I just had to unbolt the seats and disconnect the seatbelt alarm thingy then.

Haha true. That white barn and the surrounding buildings give it away, but I could be wrong. I've pretty much been in the Monterey area all my life. No time to hit up Hollister; that's where most of the locals go mudding, etc.

BTW, I saw a T4R similar to yours at the 7-11 in Seaside this morning (Sunday).
