Cut apart my beavertail....welded it to a store bought receiver hitch....gave her a coat of silver paint to match the rear fascia. .....sits a lot nicer now.

Cabin filter, six months, like the aftermarket better so far. All those larger pleats... last time when I changed... from OEM see all the sh!t? a bunch ended up down in the blower. So more pleats versus less pleats, less pleats hold all the sh!t better that's for sure. LOL the debate goes on

Well, I'm halfway there, ran out of time to finish the 2nd half. I decided to do 2 single drawer where I can stack on top of each each other since i use and have the 3rd row. Here's my work I progress.

Took a ride down to Cabelas in Delaware, having some of the strangest weather I have ever experienced for January in the northeast. Thunderstorms, hail and down pours.

Got a little dirty at a 4x4 park in Ocala, FL.

My dad and I went out to the Pine Barrens in New Jersey to try and find some trails. This was the first time either of us have gone offroading. We got to a point in a trail where there was a small puddle blocking the path It looked small to our virgin offroad eyes). We got out of the truck walked around and said "**** it" and decided to go for it.

I almost instantly got stuck. Here is a pic after getting the 4runner out. It took us 2 hours.



Looking at the hole after the 4runner was out, I have no idea why we decided to go for it.

Thankfully I had my hilift jack and was able to winch us out....Or so I thought. The jack broke. it snapped while winching. I have absolutely no idea how it happened.



Shitty pic but the metal piece next to the lower peg snapped. The jack is still functional, it just wont raise the lower peg by its self so I had to manually lift the pin each hole. That is why it took us so long to get out.

But we eventually got out. At least we learned a lot about winching with a hilift jack and about mud (never going into a "puddle" again haha).I learned some of the limits of the truck as well. It was a good experience and a good time to bond with my dad.

Here is the 4runner after getting her out. A lot cleaner than I thought shed be.



Taking off the skids this morning to clean out the mud wasn't fun either. I didn't know that much mud could be stuck to a car like that.

I lived most of my life in South Florida, and found a few spots to wheel the Tacoma I had at the time.

Big Cypress: I had a permit, and would go with a couple FJ buddies. It is a solid 2 hour drive to the trail head- you have to drive most of the way across the Alley, then south, then north again on a dirt road for several miles. It's a hike, and best done during the driest possible weeks.

Bonita Springs: the was a very large area with trails at the east end of Bonita Springs Rd. Not sure if the land has been developed yet or not.

Ocala area: There is a legal off-road park called Ocala Hard Rock, as well as some trials.
There is also some private property across from the "Bubba Raceway Park" on 25A. Some nice steep climbs and stuff there(used to be a quarry I think).
Ocala National Forrest is also an option, but not much technical stuff there, just miles of sandy fire roads.

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely have to do some research on Bonita and Ocala.

Excellent work, I looked quickly but didn't see a build thread. Can you document more details by chance? This is what I was thinking about or something similar for my third row as well.

I would be interested to see more photos of what broke on the high lift, always a live and learn but I assume you didn't probe the hole/tracks to see how deep they go? I would assume likely culprit as high centered on the rear diff due to how deep the tracks were. Also that looks like thick mud, while the BFG KO/2 are a solid tire the only thing worth much in a mud pit is a mud tire. If you'd not mind pin stripes on the paint stratling those types of holes normally yields good results.

It was a slight decline into the pit so I think I was stuck on my front skids. I'm really not sure though. They definitely dragged on the way out by the looks of the pit afterwards. But no, I didn't measure how deep the tracks were. My sliders were basically resting in the mud though.

We really shouldn't have attempted it. We were just stupid honestly haha. The mud was the most slippery surface I ever walked on (besides ice). It was thick and caked in the bfg's.
