I'm gonna take you up on that, 45 miles ain't nothing. We roll that distance to the Laurel Highlands to go mountain exploring a couple times a month. After a string of bouncy, rough Jeeps, the capability and the comfort of the 4runner has me wanting to be hitting trails every free minute I get.

Building on yesterdays momentum (TRD grille and valance). Stared at the Shrockworks sliders in their box for about 5 minutes and decided to hold off until a dry day and an extra pair of hands. My 3 year old just wasn't going to cut it.

Instead I installed my xenondepot HID low beams with Philips 4300k bulbs and an aFE Pro Dry S air filter.

The headlight cutoff lines right up with the marks I made on the garage wall as a benchmark. No adjustment needed, and no polarity reversal needed. I didn't use the relays. Light quality is a drastic improvement.

Took about an hour for everything. Going on a bit of a longer drive than my normal commute tomorrow and can't wait to see how much better the truck breathes.

I picked up a used ladder from a T4R member in anticipation for my upcoming roof rack install.

On removal, the Gobi provided adhesive was ruined (not surprising) so I called Gobi to see what they would recommend for a suitable adhesive, or maybe some weight rating specs.
They apparently have the stuff custom made, so no alternatives were offered. I am thinking about using some 3M extreme double sided tape for the top mount, and this for the bottom mount where the ladder contacts the outside of the rear hatch:

This would allow me to remove the ladder if I wanted to do so without needing to mess with the double sided tape, which does it's job well and doesn't like letting go. According to the specs, the fastener has a higher weight/sq.in. rating than the double sided tape... Anyone have any thoughts?

I've never installed a ladder before, but I'd have no hesitation to use it in place of double sided tape as long as the surface area was the same and the thickness wasn't a problem.

Yeah, I did the same thing with my HID's which is why I thought of this for the ladder! It's really strong and is rated for 1000 fastened/unfastened cycles.My only thought is that it might have issues with the Gobi design because it will be a thicker product than a single piece of double sided tape...

Took mine in today for a leak test. Reaffirmed the rear hatch is leaking, crossing my fingers it's just that, and not the roof rails too. Waiting on parts and to have my headliner cleaned.

Cheap simple mod that looks much better and lights up the road superbly. Also disabled the DRL
