What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I installed the Scuba Mod for both the rear differential and the E-Locker on my Trail Edition today. Yes, there are two one way valves on these that Toyota substituted for elevated breathers. They're both pretty flimsy. For the $8 cost of these parts I'm tempted to take one apart and verify that it's nothing more than a loose metal cap over a hole.

I found a new place to route the breather tube. Not the one I've read about here in several threads on the subject. Much simpler, more water resistant and I didn't need to gouge a crude hole out of the OEM rubber grommet.

I took apart the valve that came in my diff just to see, since it was going in the trash anyway, it had a spring and check valve in it. Cheaply made to say it's suppose to help protect the rear diff.
Didn't gouge a crude hole in my rubber grommet when I did my install... I used a piece of tubing to make a nice clean hole to run my fuel line (breather tube) thru, tight fit and no need for silicone either.
Easy peezy!

Removed my sliders yesterday, prepping to ship for another member. Already missed it especially wearing dress pants to work. Lol.
In the mean time, had these install during my lunch. Temporary fix on the upper radiator grill and apply the $200 towards a lightbar that in the section.

All I did in my brand new 4Runner today was run some errands. Sigh.

I'm really chomping at the bit to go off-road it somewhere but unfortunately with all the stuff I have going on right now, it'll probably be a couple months or more before get a chance to even going out just for a few hours to test it off road.

Test fitted my new Rigid E2 28" led bar. So stoked with how this is going to turn out. 14,270 angry beautiful raw lumens. It'll light up an entire mile.

Thanks for the info on the valve. They don't look like much when you hold them and realize it's all that's keeping water (and maybe dust) out of your differential. I can't imagine why Toyota would scrimp on this part.

I saw your post about the hole cutter in the grommet. I was impressed with your method. I wasn't sure If I had any tube the right size. Then when I couldn't see the top of the grommet I wasn't sure where it was in the tool compartment or if I'd be able to feed the tube through.

I'm about to post a new thread showing my solution with photos of the parts and hose route. Look for "E-Locker and Diff' Breather install, Trail Edition".

Took apart the cargo area to start taking some measurements for building a rear tie-down platform. Gotta see what's underneath before I start drawing!

Took the 4R out this weekend with the wifey and pups to enjoy some fresh air in the outdoors. Cruised up through the woods, ate some lunch from the back of the 4R then caught the firey sunset. Pretty solid weekend I would say.

Nice pics! Where did you mount the camera on the rear? I used a suction cup mount on my driver's rear view mirror, that way, I could adjust the camera without having to get out of the car. Didn't work as well as I would have liked. You can see what it captured in the "transitions" on this video:

Reminds me of the time our lab barfed. She was sitting in front seat and chose the center cup holder for her eruption, filling it completely. I stopped, dumped it out, rinsed with snow, all clean.

Finally did Bilstein 5100's all the way around, fronts set at .85 and 275/70/17 BFG KO2's. Stance is perfect, ride is awesome.

Got my new 250A alternator installed last night. designed new bracket for isolator & solenoid and sent to the sheetmetal shop this morning.
