yeah... it was a bit gnarly at times, but there was a little something for everyone from very mild to the wild stuff. it was a blast!

Installed BD Squadron Pro-Rs (Amber) on wife's SR5.
Notes:
-Just remove 5 screws from the fender liner and pull it back enough to reach your hand in with a screwdriver.
-No need to remove the black plastic bezel surrounding the fog lights.
-Passenger side has a splash guard behind the fog light that is removed and not reinstalled
-Amber looks good...seems a bit less bright than the clear Squadron Pro's on my power wagon. However, I anticipate the amber is a bit easier on the eyes in dust.

My new 2016 TEP

Hey everyone, new guy here but not new to 4Runners. I bought a new Millenium Silver SR5 in 2000 and owned that thing for 16 years. I loved that truck. Over the years I installed a small body lift, an OME suspension lift, TRD supercharger with all the URD fuel mods, upgraded the automatic, changed wheels and was running 295/70/17 Nittos when I sold it.

Well, it was time for something new so I sold the 2000 (In one day) and purchased a 2016 silver TEP with KDSS. I have only owned it for three weeks but have already tinted the front windows, added the TRD Pro grill, the TRD Pro front valance and rear bumper cover, ordered Weathertech window visors and digital mats, Husky cargo liner, ordered the Trail emblems, black out kit from Nox Lux and installed the TRD Rock Warrior shifter. I obviously have issues. This truck will definitely see a lift and 285s plus new wheels but my other half wants me to wait a bit. Something similar to Desert Dawg's truck is what I am shooting for. I have gotten the okay to purchase a set of sliders or nerf bars and here is my dilemma. I am not a hardcore offroader. I hunt and fish and camp quite a bit which means I travel some trails and dirt roads. Not a rock crawler for sure. I really like the Nfab nerf bars on the Desert Dawg machine but have also been looking at Bud Built and Shrockworks sliders. Can someone please talk me out of spending $600, $700 or $800 for hardcore sliders when I can get the Nfabs for $310? Are there other nerf bar options I should look at or should i bite the bullet and get real sliders? I will have to put together a build post at some point, just not sure when I will get to the lift.

If you like the way the n-fabs look, get em. Just keep in mind that they will increase the risk of shit getting hung up below your rockers and tearing shit up, and that they almost always inevitably rust to hell and back.

If you're not going to grind it over rocks and you want the fam to be able to get in and out easily get the nerf's. I just ordered RCI sliders for my new Pro but I have already gouged the crap out of my front skid using it to test clearance over boulders. I definitely need the armor. In your case save the money for camping and fishing goodies.

honestly, i think there's probably a pretty brisk market for used N-Fabs — like Nordic Tracks. people buy them, regret them, sell them, and then spend the money again to upgrade.

just get in on a group buy and buy sliders the first time. you won't miss or regret the extra $$ you spend to do it right the first time.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new rig.

I was looking at the Metal Tech Sliders and the CBI Off Road Sliders. I looked at the NFab but they seem like they would decrease your clearance over obstacles and hang up. You get what you pay for as well as you bought a Trail Edition with KDSS like I did. You bought a level of capability and I think NFab is a step back.

Does anyone else have any quality recommendations for sliders besides the CBI and Metal Tech?
