What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Wrapped up my Moab trip. Got to the hotel and realized I wouldn't fit in the hotels garage. #liftedlifestruggles

Ordered the RCI gas tank skid and a few other bits. I have some repair work to do when I get home. Eventually I'll need to get my quarter panels repaired from a few good bashes getting up the trails. But it's just sheet metal. What a great trip. Moab is truly hard to describe.

Also put on some Total Chaos trailing arm skids before hitting Miller Jeep Trail next weekend with TTORA. I'm tired of constantly hitting these when rock crawling so hopefully these help out. Too lazy to paint them at this time.

I don't really understand how you could be too lazy to paint something the size of a beer can, that will only be harder yo deal with going forward, but that's just me.

Missed my Salex after installing a console vault. Trimmed it down so it fits inside the console vault. Dremmeled a slot in the Salex so the holster "locks" into a consistent position. I know I will miss the easy access I used to have, but feel better about more responsibly securing my gear when I am not in it.

It's more of a "Do I really need to paint this?", instead of laziness. Here's the RCI skid that came painted black from the shop. After repainting it over and over again after each monthly off-road trip, I've finally stopped. And since these trailing arm pivots have taken a beating on almost every trip so far, I'm trying to figure out the point of painting them.

Mounted an H3R dry chemical extinguisher to the jack cubbyhole cover plate.
Used the supplied mount, hopefully stays put, I'll find out this weekend when I hit the trail.

I keep a small bag of hand tools where the jack is and the cover constantly pops off when weight shifts. Post pics if you go with hinges I'd love to know if it works. Like the extinguisher [emoji106]

Went prospecting yesterday

Sluice Clean up had five flakes in rubber matting. Have pan to pan material from sluice still. Sorry no PIC's but when i have the fever i have to force myself to even drink water, it was 90 yesterday and i was pooped when i got done. Dug the drop zone of a large boulder that was under high water over the winter and blowout. Got about 3-4 feet down, boulder after boulder removal . Ran a lot of material. Fingers crossed.

I knew I was done for the day when I asked myself why i was trying to get this last bolder out buy myself with a larger one looming above it. I under cut the top boulder about a foot in. I didn't want to be found head down in a pool of water with and 800 pounder on my head.

Got home around 3:00pm, showered and passed out on the couch, woke around midnight, eat went back to sleep woke this moring, unloaded the 4R, washed it. Off to work I go. Will pan it out tomorrow and post a PIC.

I went on some rocky trails over a week ago and I don't have anything attached to the cover. I found the cover had popped off and the tool bag had come out into the back after getting tilted on some bumpy rocks.

Be careful with the weight of the extinguisher as the cover is only held on by the pressure of the plastic tabs that hold the cover in place.

I like that extinguisher, wish there was a more solid mount for that or a 5lbs one in these 4Runners.

Maybe they could bring back the 1st Gen removable rear top so that we could have a roll-bar to attach these things!
