Did some beach camping on Portsmouth Island, NC
This is on my must do soon list! How was it? Would it be difficult to get a pop up out on the island?

Arrived back in South Florida at 3:30 am after an 18 hour drive back from Maryland. Put 3,213 miles on the 4runner during the 12 day trip to up to see family. During the trip we took the kids with their grandparents (yes we use the third row lol) to Dutch Wonderland, and the Natural History/Air & Space museum at the Smithsonian in DC. Also got to partake in some crab eating (Chesapeake Bay kind not the Ocean City/Baltimore street flavor), which is one reason why I always try and visit "home" at least once between June and October.
The wife and I also got to get away for a day to take the 101 course up a Rausch Creek. That was a great learning experience, the only downside to the whole class was how good these things are stock. Unfortunately my wife now doesn't think we "need" new tires or an upgraded suspension/lift. I might still convince her to upgrade the skids and get some sliders as ours are now beat to hell.
In the end this trip just re-emphasized what a perfect vehicle this is for us. We can do all of the family stuff and haul up to 7 people in our 2.75 row mall crawler, travel comfortably with 2 kids in car seats, a 12 year old 50lb mutt for over 3,000 miles in less then 2 weeks as well as go off-roading and hold our own with the JK's on the weekend.
The only thing that I regret is I didn't get a chance to get [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] his 100k beer this trip!

Should not be that bad, I just saw a guy pull a 20' Airstream on the island, so a pop up will not be that bad. Bring TONS of bug spray.
First trip off pavement with the 4Runner and even talked the wife into tagging along with the 2 kids. The trail was Cedro Peak about 25 mins east of Albuquerque. It was a good time! I haven't really driven off road since owning a TJ Rubicon in 2004-2005 and had forgotten the shear enjoyment a few hours off road can bring.

Did a camp and kayak trip to Big Sur. Landed my PB ling at 36 inch and 17 lbsDidn't have time to explore Big Sur but will be back!
Camped there myself just a few weeks back!

Today was supposed to be a crabbing-only day on the Severn River, but the tide was right...and I know this secret spot for White Perch. I swear if more people knew how good they were that's all they would fish for, lol.
The crabs are nuts this year! I only brought 16 traps and it took me about 3 hours to pack 2 dozen- including setting up and putting everything away. Some of those are about 8" too! :dancin:

That'd be nice to have some crabs, nice and fresh, cooked down with that good old bay flavor. I'm jealous, I'll send you one of these 135 lb catfish, you send me a bucket of crabs?
