Got my new license plate installed. Much better than the Oregon Tree style.

2+ years on the Shrockworks here and Zero problems. Either of these is a must with a high clearance bumper. Or you can Cheap it and paint your factory reservoir black and act like it's not hanging down waiting to get smashed!

So the backstory is that I smashed the bejeezus out of my original plate (the oregon tree one, which is the default plate) in Moab. And it was pretty mutilated, their term not mine, and had it off. I almost never park on the street, and getting it replaced was on my priority list.
Finally I got hit with a ticket here in Portland, for 80 friggin dollars. And Portland doesn't do fix-it tickets. So I went to the DMV and 20 minutes later had new plates. I thought they just ordered new plates with the same license plate number to keep confusion down. Turns out they just give you new plates with a new number. So I upgraded to the Pacific Wonderland plates, which are basically like the blue/yellow version of the classic retro California black/yellow plates. When I bought the TRD PRO the dealer basically checked the default plate option without giving me the option, so I got saddled with the lame plates. And then when I called the DMV asking to upgrade earlier this spring someone gave me the wrong information that indicated that I would have to re-register, smoke check, etc, the vehicle resulting it it costing 350 dollars just to get new plates.
Anyways, long story short, 34 dollars for new plates, and 100 dollars to upgrade to the blue-yellow ones. I'm a fan.
I'll admit it looks better without a front license plate, especially since it shows off the Factor 55 fairlead and flatlink-e:

Baja Fog Lights
Finally had a chance to install my Baja Sport Fog lights, I'm very happy with them and they are very bright. Install was easy with the exception that I was unable to reinstall the black back splash on the passenger side. Anyone else have a problem with this? I just left it off after I tried unsuccessfully to monkeying around with it for a while. Also when I took off the driver side OEM light there was water sitting in the heat tube around the factory wires, which gave me bit of a shower.

hah another cool pic Funny how plates somehow take a beating. Man I guess not having sale tax, Oregon makes it up in other ways, steeeeep fees.
Yep me too. Been trying to get a '69 Utah plate (there black and white) but apparently I would have had to had a car at that time with them or by why from someone who would transfer the plate... ugh, so well I wait.
Totally not a fan of all the fancy picture plates, I mean they were cool... for like a month.

What do you expect, I'm a paid photographer/video dude!
Well on the plate flipper I use, aka the flipster, it is fantastic but sorta sets the plate up for damage if it hits anything. Next time in Moab I'll remove the plate preemptively to avoid destroying it again. Oregon has no sales tax, but they jack us on income tax. Either way I'm going to contest the ticket since the front plate was basically destroyed and almost ripped in two.
But yeah I agree, plates with graphic designs seem to be becoming the norm...and they look...horrible. License plates should be simple. Again my dealer basically ignored telling me about the plate options or rather tried to tell me not to waste my money, but it's funny how much a license plate can either accent a vehicle, or ruin it. Also front plates serve no other purpose than to help red light cameras, which I firmly believe are unconstitutional anyways. And it tends to force things like sports cars to put it in the windshield, or not run at all, because you know what looks good on a Lamborgini? A FLAT PLATE, said no one ever.
