Finished installing my bussman fuse block and finished all the led lights wiring and hookup on the gobi rack.

How did the repair turn out?

Finally have a picture of how the repair turned out. If you know where to look and stand so the light hits it, you can see it, but if you were just standing back and admiring, you wouldn't really notice it.

Damn that actually looks pretty good, apart from replacing that awful bumper cover with a full plate bumper that's the best looking trim/winch solution to date.

Spent most of the day changing out the front & rear diff fluid, transfer case and changing the oil. Rear diff no problem, transfer case no problem, front diff drain plug big problem. Drove it to a shop and tossed them a 20 to break it loose. Came back and finished the job including all of the u-joints and prop shaft lube. I may take it to the Toyota dealer next time all of that is due. :frusty:

I ended up picking up a electrical torque wrench a milwakee at home depot that was on the open box rack for $100. They have many others. I use these forthe problem you just had. Pkus I leave in a waterproof dry bag in the roof rack box to make changing the tires easy as pie. I picked up the teflon lined wheel nut sockets at ahrbor frieght and most of all my air tool socketa there too for a song. If you do alot of the wrenching yourself it is worth looking into.

Ha ha. Seriously they send you a boxed off piece of metal. So you grind/cut with the template and already have a peice ready to weld on to make it look nice. I dont now if I have a picture may have one from when I installed the Total Chaos +2 Long Travel suspension on my FJ. Ill have to look at some archived phitos. If not I am sure there are aome out there. It was very reasonable when I bought it years ago.

It's just easy enough for me to use cardboard and make a template for what I've cut open and transfer it to a metal sheet to cut out and weld on. Plus, I like the DIY aspect.

True but for $20 I would rather call it done and then dont have to deal with storing extra sheet metal. But, again I perosnally dont have need for sheet metal beyond the small things. Others do. It is another option in this big game of modding our trucks. Me I would like to learn to weld. Not only would it benefit my offroading and overlanding. Yet it would allow me to expand my builds on the firearms side. Especially kits that require welding such as the cetme.

Installed my Shrockworks sliders. Took about 4 hours. Part of that was because I needed to go to the hardware store twice to get a few bits and pieces. I love their look and they're very heavy duty however I have mixed feelings about them. Ended up having to drill 3 holes in my frame to properly install them. Also having to use the stick nuts/handle nuts made things a little more awkward. I suppose if I done more research I would have gone with a slider that didn't require drilling into the frame. At any rate it'll be fine and I'll get over it. Functionally I'm sure they're as good as any and I got a great deal on them with the Group Buy.

Yea I painted the rear hub. It was a little rusty.
