Bolts come loose or did they shear?

Bolts all sheared except one bolt which amazingly held the tent on the roof rack and prevented it from sliding further.

Just got back last night from a camping trip at the Oceano Dunes. Coincidentally was during the Toyota jamboree, so I got to chat with a few other Toyota owners one day. My first trip to the dunes and the 4Runner ate the sand up. I'll tell ya there's something to be said about not wearing shoes for 4 days while camping!

Pismo's always a good time! I've had a Jeep out there and my 4Runner and the 4Runner is so much smoother on the dunes. Me, I'm currently getting my oil changed in Washington after a long haul from California to Alaska and back :reddance:

Not sure about off road trails, but Big Sur has great hiking and camping.

...threw in a K&N Air Filter (P/N 33-2438). By far the best 'mod' for the buck. I paid around $50 on Amazon, and it took 30 seconds to install.

I run K&N on all my vehicles. Obviously the advantages are 1) they do not need replacement / pay themselves off over time, and 2) claimed increase in HP and MPG....but that aside, on this vehicle in particular, you can FEEL the difference which is immediately noticeable. She can finally breath!! Low end acceleration is not hindered any more. It feels like the equivalent of having had (pre-K&N) a parachute attached to the vehicle, and cutting it loose.

I haven't noticed this dramatic of a change in 'feel' with other vehicles I've thrown a K&N AF in. DO IT.

Gonna try the K&N. The low end on this V6 is pretty weak. I had one on my old V8 SE. Didn't notice much of a performance gain but it gave the 4R a nice growl when on the throttle. Worth a shot.

That really is a great score. It's my VHF/UHF rig in the 4runner and is probably the best VHF/UHF rig you can buy. Enjoy it!

Ordered this lil journal to keep maintenance info in, and also for my soon to be son, to start his "adventure thread" in. This rig and building of it, is all for him and my lady!
The paper inside is kinda weird hippy dippy non bleached, no animals harmed, made from wheat grass roots, kinda paper, hahah "artsy" some might call it

ARB referred me to one of their former techs to have my air locker(ARB RD193 8.2) installed, Nils @ Bull Built Differential here in WA. Put it to work this morning on some trails and it functioned flawlessly. Love how it engages/disengages with a flip of the switch. Ran 30 miles with the compressor on and it didn't have to re-cycle. Kept constant pressure.

$425 for labor and $36 for gear oil. I installed the compressor and plumbed the blue air line myself.
