Yeah it's a Siena body on a Tacoma chassis. Just a concept vehicle but still tough looking. Looks like an urban assault vehicle.

Agreed. Don't like the deep dish look. The whole thing makes me think: "I'M BATMAN!" lol

I love my Sienna...2008 with 220k on it and runs like a scalded cat. 30mpg and can carry everything I'll ever need for work. My 8 foot ladder fits inside and the 12 foot straps to the luggage rack no problem. Great sound system, rear AC, comfy seats...I love it!

Can that be used as a police/fire scanner? I'm not really into the whole HAM thing right now but in the future it's possible I may.

20 years ago, absolutely yes no problem. Nowadays odds are it can't be used for police/fire scanning because most dispatch systems have moved to digital trunking systems (like P25). This requires a much more specialized radio that's also much more expensive.

That doesn't mean there isn't stuff you can hear. If you're curious about what's on the air around you, think about buying a cheap Baofeng radio for about $25 on amazon and using that to listen. If you ever decide to become a ham then you can use it to transmit with (until then it's illegal to use the PTT button).

I have been looking for a mix of a van and true SUV.

The functionality of a van (sliding doors, interior space, comfort) mixed with the functionality and build of a SUV like the 4Runner (off-road ability, ability to tow a bit).

Threw on some locking lug nuts and this thing...I know the torque spec is 22ft lbs, but the rear bolts got pretty tight about 1/2 way in. Is that normal for a TRD pro skid?

Edit: Searched and found out yes it is. Removed the bolts, cleaned the threads, and used anti-seize to prevent disaster.

Thanks for the info. My Father-in-law has been doing the HAM thing for a long time now. He was a communications guy (don't know the exact term) while in the Marines in the late 60's. He's offered to show me the ropes if I decide to want to learn. But w/ 2 young boys and several hobbies, I think I just don't have the time. I was thinking of a name brand unit for the 4Runner that could do it all. With the way things are going now in the world and a chance of another big Earthquake here in Cali I thought it would be a good thing to have.

That really is a great score. It's my VHF/UHF rig in the 4runner and is probably the best VHF/UHF rig you can buy. Enjoy it!

I have the same radio too. How did you mount yours?

Installed 35W 5500K HID in the lows. This seems to be the most polarizing mod on this forum for some reason! :spy:
