Nope. He was driving head on and thought he could cross traffic before I came through the intersection. I was doing about 30 and I hit the brakes hard but I still hit him. My airbags didn't go off, but I'm assuming there's so many computer parts going off at the same time it knew i didn't need them. This is his car.

ah, so he was making a right... you're left. Gotcha. If your airbags didn't go off, then yours may not be totaled... I see a steal bumper in your near future.

No he was making a left to cross traffic, coming head-on with me, hence why he's hit on the passenger side. Might be a total if the frame has any damage. Besides the cracked radiator and all the destruction inside there.

I made a thing.

Well with the help of a friend who's good with CAD. Still some tweaks. But I'm not entirely sure if we'll make a production run of these, or if it'll be kept to a dozen for now.

Aluminum mounting plate for a fire extinguisher, works on both sides. I won't mod the weathertech mat till I know this works well, and it SHOULD still work with the plastic rail cover feet if you notch them out.

Goal is to be anodized as well.

I'll buy one if you make them. I've been hoping someone would come up with something like this.

Assuming the prototype does well on this trip to New Mexico I'll tell the guy making them to start working on prices. Not sure how man we will make or if they'll be powder coated, anodized, or kept in the raw.

Simple mods: LEDs, PlastiDip

Replaced all interior bulbs with this kit, best twenty bucks I ever spent.

Map bulbs are a pain to take out. I wrapped some electric tape on the tips of long nose pliers (really long ones from harbor freight, but regular needle nose ones should work too). I opened the door and waited for the bulbs to get hot, then grabbed the bulb with pliers and held it tight for a minute. The heat melted the tape enough to get a better grip, and then just pulled down to get the bulb out.

Ordered Gobi Stealth rack, but most likely it will be 2017 before it comes in. In the meantime I plasti dipped the gray rails with flat black from Home Depot. I took the rails out, and used long pieces of wood to hold them between sawhorses to be able to rotate then easily. Came out nice, but took 7-8 of coats to cover the gray, a lot more more than the emblems. Texture and color is actually close to the plastic end caps and factory cross bars.

I was going to use the same black to darken the emblems in the back, but then decided to try to match the metallic finish on the TRDP's Toyota. So I used the Graphite Pearl Metalizer color. Pretty happy with the finish, I wanted to darken the emblems without totally hiding them.

I did the spraying of the rack rails in a 2 car garage, while the 4runner was in there. I noticed later that it was covered in black dust:doh:, luckily it wiped off easily,

Well, Discount tire either never ordered my tires (Falken Wildpeak A/T3W) or sold them out from under me.

But, being the company they are, they offered me a set of Cooper ATP in LT265/70/17 sizing at a deep discount. I couldn't say no.

I've gotta little rub going on, on both my passenger and driver side wheel wells. The tread on these is crazy deep.

I'll see if the heat gun will take care of most of it later this weekend, but the front driver side will require a little trim to clear at full left lock in reverse.
