I found and purchased some dog kennels that fit perfectly.

These are Midwest Side-by-Side SUV crates, model SL42SUV. The hounds don't seem to approve.

Measurements are 42" x 21" x 30".

Brown dog: awww shucks Dad you forgot the blankets
Black dog: you know your right but I didn't wanna say nothing

All steel... though I may move to aluminum eventually.

If you're beating the crap out of the steel why would you switch to aluminum?

(Obviously weight savings.) Not a challenge. Just curious.

I've been eyeballing the Budbuilt steel set.

I need to pick up a lot more pennies to put into my piggy bank though.

I like that you're beating them up. That means you're using the truck. Good times.

Got some new wheels on today. Haven't driven enough on them to see if they feel lighter, but man they are mesmerizing... please pardon my crappy phone pic with insta filter, I can't help myself lol.

Fn countersteer type x 17" with 265/70/17 cooper at3 that have about 20k miles left on em.

Got lifted today! It's sitting at 3 inches in the front and ~2+ in the back. I'm hoping it settles in the next few weeks.

Last week, I drove up to RCI Off Road and picked up my order from the group buy: sliders, front skid and filler plate, trans skid, and t-case skid. The next day, I installed that batch of armor with the help of a neighbor. Only issue is that the exhaust crossover is rattling on the skid while in reverse...need to figure this one out as it's quite annoying and loud.

This past weekend, I took my parents out on a trail run with a bunch of friends who also have a Miata and off-road vehicle as well as a neighbor with a Taco and did part of Yankee Hill and Miners Gulch. It was snowy and very cold and windy. When we got to a steep climb with rocks, a couple of pickups got stuck and were just sliding around, so we diverted to Miners Gulch and had fun until we had to turn around due to an impassable area. Much fun was had by all, and I got to christen the new skids. I was quite impressed with how the truck and the Falken AT3W handled snow and slick, steep climbs. ATRAC only activated twice the whole time we were out, and I walked up and down several areas that even the FJ and Taco along with us were spinning tires on. At one point, I was told an area was super slick and to be careful...decided to give crawl control a try and it just walked down like it was nothing without so much as a single slip or slide. The Jeep Renegade behind me was caught off-guard as to how slick it was because my truck looked so composed going down. Next mod will likely be a front lift, or front/rear lift, to try and recover what was lost by adding the armor. Also need to get the armor bits for the lower-rear links and gas tank skid.

I also got a better air hose for my Viair 400P compressor and pieced together a better air chuck than I was able to find online. I may do a Y-hose at some point so I can fill two tires at a time.

I'm optimistic that my driving skills will improve by the time I'm willing to shell out for the upgrade and weight savings!

I Use it, not as much as I'd like, but enough to feel like it's money well spent.

To stay on topic... drove it to work today, also pulled out the fridge to start making the new box for the back.

Rear Brake Job

First rear brake job since I bought my 4R new in Jan 2014. I am at 66k miles. I went with OEM again, bought from my dealer after pricematching another. $52 OTD for the set. not bad at all :)
Also took it for tire balance/rotation . Feels like a new ride :)

Did you do it yourself? I've read that changing the pads on the 4Rs are super easy. I've got a ways to go before I'll need a brake job but would be good to keep in mind when I do.
