Hit up rowher flats from the Bouquet canyon side after work on Saturday with the lady to see how green everything is. Made it to the look out ended up bypassing the old waterfall trail after walking it. I'll save it for another day when I can air down and have a second car with us. Hung out at the lookout for about a hour, one of my favorite spots to go hands down.
Then on the way out blasted the portal trail in green valley in reverse which is always fun, since that's my warm up trail on my bike and I know every square inch of that trail.

Uniden Bearcat 980 CB radio came from Amazon today! Still waiting on my custom ditch light/antenna brackets to come from CBI Offroad. Should give me some time to figure out where and how I'm going to mount the Uniden inside the cab. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I hacked out the center console, its tight but works, others have put on the right if the center console in passenger area, that seems easier.

Applied grip tape to the sliders so the wife doesn't complain about the step up.

Even rounded the corners to be fancy.

Also installed the Raingler net for the Gobi Stealth rack.

I'm new here, picked up a 2016 Trail at the end of November and loving it! Finally got a chance this weekend to start on the drawer/sleep platform setup. Still have a lot of work to do but progress is progress!

I don't come from a wood working background, but I've built a few drawer systems in the past. My limited knowledge usually leads me to use 1/2 or 3/4 Baltic birch screwed and glued with a kreg jig. They've always turned out nice and outlasted the vehicle I put them in but they are heavy.

What kind of joinery are you using? Is that just pine boards? Looks great I'd love more detail as I'm planning a build and want to keep it lighter this time.

I did the same - just becareful when wearing shorts and stepping out the truck bypassing the slider, it'll put a nice burn on the back of your leg

It's a useful upgrade when you're dealing with rain. However in freezing rain sliders are still potential murder bars.

I also dont come from a wood working background. My theory has always been try and building something light and strong. I hate the idea of adding all this unnecessary weight and over building.

I used 1x2's and framed everything out, the top is 1/2" ply and rests on top of the wheel wells as well as the drawer frame. I originally wanted to do the top as one piece of 1/2" ply but could not get it to fit in there so had to rip it down the middle which is fine.

The drawers are also made of 1x2's and then covered with 1/8" ply sheeting. Im still experimenting and trying to see whats lighter.

The drawer slides are 28" full extension drawer slides rated for 100lbs. I could have gone for the 36" length but the rating is 500lbs and the cost goes way up.

Currently the drawer frame weighs 10lbs, Ill have to weigh the rest of it when I finish it up. Ill post more pictures later!

Took every piece of extraction equipment we had. At one point myself and a friend in his J/K were both stuck and sliding off trail. Sliding off would have meant abandoning vehicles until spring as this was a super remote area. But with some time, some digging, installing tire chains on a vehicle while buried (difficult BTW), TREAD pro's, strapping the rock slider to tree to keep from further sliding off trail we were able to get out. Need to invest in a winch next.

Getting the rig ready for a quick trip in a few days and doing some more testing with the flexible solar panels/system...really pleased with the draw I am getting off of this system and I didn't even put the panel in an ideal location....no doubts at all w/my sustainment needs...pretty impressed and rolls up to a 5in diameter

Got it all nasty with mud on Saturday and got off my lazy butt on this beautiful MLK Day to take the pressure washer and do a complete exterior/interior cleaning. Found that a little trail came home with me. Nothing a a polisher and a little paint wont fix.
