Slide-out tray sleeping system

After picking up a used 2014 TEP, I had an idea to utilize the factory sliding cargo tray to accommodate sleeping in the truck. After searching around on this forum, I was surprised to only come across a single mention of someone filling in the void after the tray is extended (via some foam) and sleeping on the level surface. I went ahead and built my own set-up that stores in the truck 24-7.

I keep the support brackets below the sliding tray. The top platform stores below my CanvasBack liners. Pretty stealth IMO.

Works well if I need to crash at a trailhead assuming I can stash all my other gear outside or elsewhere in the truck.

Finally got around to pre-setting my trailhead tire deflators, which was some trial and error. Got them about .5 +/- to the desired 10psi.

And...decided to show off how awesome beadlocks are...

Nice! Have not used mine yet, but also considered the rexing, but watching car cam central on youtube swayed my decision to viofo. For the wiring, I actually used this for an easy and quick installation. Plus, I didn't want to mess with the fuse box even though I've heard its easy but this is a lot easier.

Well I tried the SimpleUSB adapter but the prongs kept slipping out when I adjusted my mirror. Apparently not uncommon.

So hard wired down to fuse box, soldered an Add-a-Fuse to the hard wire power cable, added a 5amp fuse along with a 30amp ATM mini fuse for the driver seat since the OEM fuse is too short, and put it into the slot for the power driver seat. Always on since the dash cam is low draw and has motion detection for when the car is parked. Took about an hour including the soldering. Worked out great.

So yeah this is what happens when you have Amazon and ample time on a Saturday night .... however my little guy loves it and that's the most important thing.

Congrats! I've been licensed since 2008. Glad to see amateur radio becoming more popular with the off-road crowd.

I had to use a couple small zip ties to keep it from slipping and it seems stable so far. The only thing is not being able to use motion sensor feature on it, but it's alright still happy with the cam. Glad that worked out for you

I have the techstream software and cable.. i live in so cal also we should meet up and try it.. there is a program new key wizard.. check it out on youtube.. is the key cut?
