Spent a couple of hours removing the lovely pin stripping the tire shop left on two of my wheels when they mounted my tires yesterday. They both had something like this that went half way around the circumference of the wheel :redbrick:
A couple of hours, wet sanding with 1600 grit sandpaper, a polishing tip on the Dremel and some Pinnacle correction compound followed by Meguiars D30016 DA microfiber correction compound with some elbow grease and voila...

I'm very upfront with a tire shop prior to any work being done and ALWAYS do a walk around with them prior to the work being started. The understanding is set that any damage to a rim whether it's as simple as a scratch will result in them replacing said rim with new OEM.
It's not that hard to pay attention to what you are doing and avoiding this. And if a shop feels that they cannot then I appreciate their honesty more so than saying they can then damaging something anyways.

Installed TRD PRO Grill
Installed the TRD PRO Grill. Took less than 40 minutes. I also had my wheels scratched by the shop when installing. They are brand new SCS Ray 10's. 3 out of the 4 have the same scratches around the wheel. Going to call tomorrow to see what they can do.

Thanks. They are made by Coletac. One is their high temp variant (on the SBR) and does ok with mild 5.56 shooting schedules but anything more than that will melt it.
The other is their python version or something. I can't remember the name. I had a TAB gear brand variant of that as well - both are good stuff. These are great on low volume fire suppressors that don't get that hot and would be what I recommend if you're using that on a precision type gun

I have found 20 rounds x 2 hunters is plenty sufficient for hunting.
What's the concern with 20rd mags?

Haha, I couldn't tell if you were asking why I wasn't using 30rd mags or why I wasn't using 5rd mags.
I think 30 is too heavy/long considering I never shoot more than 10rds ever anyway, and private land hog hunting has no mag limits and there ain't NO WAY IN HELL im walking through the woods of potential meth heads, poachers, gators, bears, snakes, etc at 1 AM with nothing but a green 30* field of view and having only 5 rounds in my rifle.

finished up pretty late so not many pics of how bright they are in a dark place. I live in the burbs so night pics without street lights will come soon. Maybe tomorrow after the super bowl

So after the bowl, I went to a darker part of town and did all the tests and thought my dashcam took all the pics I need... SD card was not in it...

Day 2 in the garage... Installed XD LED fog bulbs (im starting to think the toyota engineers hate us), fender liner mod and some trimming, drl disable (XD LEDs there too), and touched up my nfabs that arrived damaged. Oh and failed to install the sprint booster... again. Maybe next time.
