Yea that'll definitely weigh you down some. I'll get there eventually... must be nice to have the scenery that you do, it would make for some nice weekends. I'm driving up to Montana and thinking of coming back down thru Utah on the way home.

Yeah... I am anti-front-plate, but both Texas and Colorado require them. So, I just let it be. Got 4 warnings (pulled over and everything) on the way to and from Colorado the year we got married up there.

I ended up putting in a very sensitive CompuStar T11 system for this very reason (Thanks, [MENTION=93434]gshadow325[/MENTION]). On our way back from Colorado last month, we stopped at a hotel in Dumas, TX. Midway through the night I heard the alarm going off. I went to the window of the hotel room to find the alarm blazing and a guy running away. I guess he was trying to get the FuelPax off the roof rack because it took me a second to get out of bed, but he probably woke up the entire West side of the hotel. I reset the alarm, and went back to bed... too bad there was no sleeping at that point.

WTF!! the first time it goes off in the middle of the night and its a real threat really gets the adrenaline flowing!! thats great it did its job. Imagine there could have been other attempts that you didnt know about! thieves should get fingers chopped off

I'm right there with you... I caught make ready trying to put the bracket on the front bumper and told them it wasn't happening. I'll take a ticket instead. Texas hasn't messed with me about it yet though

Any write-ups anywhere for a good products list and procedure?

Best I can do is refer you to YouTube. Search Eastwood Rust Protection. Lots of videos. I chose the Internal Frame Coating for prevention and the Rust Encapsulating paint for existing trouble areas but they have several other products like a rubberized under body coating, rust neutralizer etc. Check their website or even give them a call. I'm sure they'd be happy to make recommendations. I can't speak to the effectiveness of their products yet. Time will tell.

Yesterday, I replaced/upgraded the differential bearing with the ECGS clamshell bushing, a new CV axle, seals, diff fluid, etc. Replaced all of the fr/rr brake pads while I was at it. I'm glad I thought to do the rears as this was what the pads looked like. Topped it all off this morning with a new set of KO2s including spare with 5th TE wheel.

How many miles did your brakes last? just curious, I'm at 36K with KO2's now.

He literally hit me that hard. Pushed me damn near into the next spot. Just went outside to try and make sure I can drive it in the parking lot and the ignition is locked completely. Tried moving the steering wheel thinking it locked. Nope. Something is screwed up

Yeah when I first woke up I thought, "What dumb@$$ set off his car alarm?". :rofl:

...then I realized it was mine. Somehow my wife and son slept through the entire experience - even with me jumping out of bed and running over to the window while the remote buzzed on the night stand. I think the "1st Warning" woke me up because the remote was by my head. When the alarm finally triggered I forgot all about the remote. Then I realized it was going to wake the rest of the family once I saw the guy running off. I silenced the alarm and the remote, took a minute to process what just happened, and realized the whole thing was already over. I spent the rest of that night staring at the ceiling.

I installed lift, wheels, tires on Wednesday

With help from my father in law, we spent 5-6 hours installing Toytec Bilstein 5100 lift on Wednesday. Last time I ever do that with jack and jack stands. Already told my wife next house will have big garage and my own lift. Trip to Colorado soon, so will put it through it's paces.

Really happy with result. Thanks Stealth Custom Series, and Toytec.

Tires are 285/70/17. Only slight rubbing. I haven't done fender liner mod or cut anything yet.

Well some guy just smoked Fiona while she was parked in the lot at work. Haven't even had it a year. Anything I should be looking at/for when getting this fixed? I've never had a vehicle in an accident before. The guy admitted fault to the police, got a report and all that good stuff. Happy Thursday [emoji30]

Make sure to file a Diminished Value claim with the other guys insurance. The appraised value of your truck is now less than it used to be due to the accident. The insurance company will try to low ball you but do some research to get a fair claim.

When I was hit in my previous truck I got a $2,000 check for the devaluation of my truck. I applied it to the balance of my loan so when I sold it or traded it in I wouldn't be upside down.

Thank you for the heads up on that. I'll definitely pursue a claim since the vehicle is less than a year old and I still haven't even crossed 15k miles. Any clue on how to get a ballpark on how much value I lost? The repair shop guy said the damage, based on a quick glance, will be $5k at a minimum.

How many miles did your brakes last? just curious, I'm at 36K with KO2's now.

I'm not sure. I bought the vehicle used but I know the brakes lasted at least 50k miles. The pads I removed were blue and had shiny metal shims. The Toyota pads I put in are black and have black shims.
