Went exploring in the Ozarks this weekend

I love Ark... looking to make more new trips w 4R. Last month slept in prior 4R three nights in natl forest above Mountain View.
Played music and mountain biked.

Yesterday took the new 4R exploring.

Reinstalled the Rola Rack after finding out the aftermarket brackets from 4xinnovations was bare steel. One day of rain and rust formed. Wet sanded it with 220, a couple coats of rust reformer, and a couple coats of flat black paint ought to do it.

Then took the family to the park for a Sunday picnic after church and used the rack for the stroller. No more jamming it between the second row and all the car seats inside!

Installed the 5100's with a friend of mine last week. 1.75" front 1" cornfed rear 265 BFG's. Love the look. Would like to size up a little on the tire but not sure about that E rated 275. I think it looks pretty good!

I love using my foam gun! It's funny to see the neighbors stop and watch. My daughter loves jumping in the soapy puddles. Looking good!

Yup! It's plastidip. I've had it on a while and it's held up pretty well for me so far.

Tested the Nitto

Went out to test the Nitto Grapplers in the Bakersfield Hills. I am a die hard BFG KO2 fanboy, but i'm super impressed of these Nittos. These are my first set and I think I want to keep them. It's super dry and dusty here, and every hill I attacked the tires stuck like glue.

Haha funny you say that my neighbor and his 6 year old came over to check it out. I got a little free cleaning and his son had a great time making "foammen"

Yup! It's plastidip. I've had it on a while and it's held up pretty well for me so far.

Very nice. I think I am convinced. Been going back and forth on just getting new wheels or plasti dipping the trails. Might have to do this tomorrow. Thanks for sharing!

Over the weekend I plastidipped my rear emblems. Sorry I cant see paying $80 for a set of plastic overlays for something I can do for $5 and an hour of my time.

I also pulled down my skid plate to clean and decided to paint the TRD logo on it black.

Weekend Trip to Sugarite Canyon

Went to Sugarite Canyon in northern New Mexico near Raton. Nice state park with 2 lakes and very nice camp sites. We even ended up finding a easy/moderate trail from the state park through the canyon to Trinidad, Co.

Traded my 4Runner in for a Jeep today...NOT. Not today but this was a few weeks ago while on vacation in Hawaii. Decided that it would be cool to rent a Jeep for Hawaii and cruise around. All I can say is that I am glad I have a 4Runner. I think by the end of the week the novelty of driving a Jeep ran out. It's loud, the soft paneling makes a lot of noise and flaps all over the place, the V6 feels underpowered for such a light car (felt like I was in a 4 cyl), and as much as the weather changes in Hawaii where it's sunny one moment and rainy the next remembering whether or not you have the top or sides down is not fun. The ride is pretty rough as well and any time you got over a pot hole it feels pretty squirrely getting bounced around. Didn't get a chance to take it off-road though. I think a Jeep is fun to rent for a bit but so happy a 4Runner is what I drive.

I did the same last month when I went to Maui. It felt like a 90's dodge after the first hour. I loved the convience of the soft top, but outside of that there was nothing else to love. 4Runner felt like a Mercedes when I got back

It's nice to see a couple of Pro's without asphalt under the tires! You should post these pictures in the pro thread to change it up form a shopping thread to something about what these things are made for No malls in the background of your pictures. lol
