What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

...Howdy!...New to this forum...tried to do a search, but it got me to here?

...I want to remove ALL the back seats and passenger front seat to build a platform....has anyone here removed the seats?....If so, can anyone please refer me to a post or thread?....Thanks!.....Cheers!...

Back seats are no issue, 6-8 bolts and they're out. The front seats have airbags in them and have airbag sensors. If you remove the front passenger seat and leave it out, you will have an airbag fault light on the dash and it will likely cause the airbag system to not work properly in the event of an accident. Also in most states an airbag light will lead to a failed inspection.

Yesterday was an eventful day for Martha Stewart. New plates showed up after waiting 5 months, bolts and cam latch showed up from mcmaster so I was able to install install my "low pro" sliders and fix the jack compartment cover because it always seemed to pop off when I went off road.

I'll pull them and paint the sliders eventually since I need to add some gussets and tabs for rock lights, but as of now they are solid I can jack the truck up from them with zero deflection and they stick out just enough to protect my doors from parking lot dings.

Ended up grinding the weld down around the black plastic fender cap. Also now I have zero rub since I ditched the front mud flaps.

Added a cam latch since the cover would always pop off when I'm offroad then my compressor would end up popping out and bouncing around.

And my new plates to troll all my jeep buddies

They look great! Just make sure they are wired to your reverse light switch so they don't accidentally turn on when you're driving down a public road.

If you start to hear unexplained noises it will probably be sand or rocks caught between the slider and fender with such tolerances.

Shouldn't around the edges are about 1/4" min I shaped them some more from that first pic (first 2 pics were from mock up), inside the pocket I have about 1" of clearance all around, and there's drain holes in the pocket for water insides are all boxed in and there's no lip so everything should "theoretically" fall out.

I can always cut the pocket out I left it to keep the aesthetics of the front plates to blend into the wheel well. I took that into account because I was worried about deflection and them tapping the fenders and pinch seams ray2: but who knows Murphy's law seems to work in weird ways lol

This. Went on a trip to Colorado for all of last week (4x4 trails, backpacking). Truck threw a rock just before Albuquerque and that chip turned into full blown cracks on the 4x4 trails. Lucky it is not impairing driver visibility so I may not need to replace it any time soon.

Disconnect the battery for 30 minutes before unplugging the airbag and you're good to go. What I was getting at is if he was to remove the seat and leave it out, that would trigger an airbag code and the airbag warning light would stay lit on the dash.

Got some Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws mounted in an LT285/70r17 so they are technically a full 33"X11.5r17. Awesome tires abosolutely love the look, road feel and pleasantly surprised at the lack of road noise! They fill out the 17x9 -12mm's well [emoji1303]

...Woah!....good to know!...will have to go to the Toyota place and see what service can tell me about that...sounds like I need to let them deal with it...don't really like nasty surprises!...Thank You mucho for that excellent warning!
