Back seats are no issue, 6-8 bolts and they're out. The front seats have airbags in them and have airbag sensors. If you remove the front passenger seat and leave it out, you will have an airbag fault light on the dash and it will likely cause the airbag system to not work properly in the event of an accident. Also in most states an airbag light will lead to a failed inspection.

...Sounds like I could handle the back seats with not too much trouble...but that front seat sounds like it will have to be a dealer-issue to deal with?...Appreciate the info, as I don't have a 4Runner yet...trying to decide between a 4R and a tacoma, but the new tacos have a host of nasty issues, and I will need a reliable offroad vehicle for my work....

Got me some Husky liners to keep the carpets clean.

Winters up here get pretty mucky, and with the rest of our adventures, easy cleaning is needed.

The fit is nuts on too.

It's some bullshit dealer add-on "security system" garbage. Basically inventory protection while it's on their lot. I've got the same thing and it pisses me off every time I see it because I just *KNOW* their little lot monkeys did a hack job wire-tapping it into place.

Once you buy the truck, they add a little shorting plug that deactivates it. I suppose in theory there's a way to reactivate it, or pull the plug for a cheep-o kill switch... But generally, its nothing cool or useful.

Got some Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws mounted in an LT285/70r17 so they are technically a full 33"X11.5r17. Awesome tires abosolutely love the look, road feel and pleasantly surprised at the lack of road noise! They fill out the 17x9 -12mm's well [emoji1303]

I've only done one real "mountain" adventure in my 4Runner on some Forest Service roads two weeks ago and even that made me realize how much I need a proper roof rack and awning and better tires at a bare minimum.

But dang, all that stuff is so expensive and Seattle cost of living doesn't allow a lot of room for discretionary funds

Off road stuff definitely does add up. I most likely won't go with a full rack system until it's time to add a tent to the top of my rig. My son is still a little too small for me to take him camping. I plan on building my own storage/drawer system over time in order to keep things organized. I'd like to keep recovery gear and tire tools separate from the weekend consumables. The awning is more of a luxury than a need. I can always park the Runner for max shade, however I'd like to be able to have a larger area to picnic. I consider myself a minimalist when it comes to accessories but I'm finding that the minimum is much more than that of previous vehicles.

I completely agree with you on the ARB mounting options (I like my stock TE rack). Having a dog is a game changer. It would be nice to toss a bunch of stuff up top, and give your doggo the rear suite.

Just did the CARISTA changes on my truck and it was money well spent! Turned off seat belt alarms, doors now unlock in park and lock when put into drive. Also holding the unlock button on your remote for more than three seconds rolls down all your windows!

Dealer will not deal with it. You simply can't remove it. Dealer will in no way disable the airbag system, ever.

Stay away from the 2016+ Tacoma. I had one for 8 months, sold it, bought my 4Runner, never looked back. I loved the Tacoma, the 3.5 with 6 speed auto is an absolute 100% POS That engine and transmission do not belong in a truck
