What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Looks good! Guessing no issues with the awning hanging forward that far unmounted? I thought they suggest no more than like a foot unmounted or something.

I had issues with brackets that I made. I tried to make some low profile brackets just by piecing some things together and they didn't last more than two months. Now that I have the ARB Modular brackets I've had no issues.

Correct. They make a medium and a large and both of those are too wide to fit between the factory roof rails.

Pulled my driver tailight assembly to fix a stoplight out (not just a blown bulb, I'm assuming some corrosion on contacts). As always followed an excellent write up on here and it's good to go!

Finally took off and painted the roof rack (of course following a write up on removing the roof rack), and tried my first-ever plasti-dip for the emblems, also after reading lots of write ups and watching videos

Roof rack-- no big deal, nothing worth taking a picture of

Plasti dip started off pretty good-- this is after a few coats (not sure how to add pic here but let me try)

Looking ok... Then my first mistake-- too much buildup on the "S" from SR5

Then as I'm peeling, my 2nd - 4th mistakes-- pulled up the plasti dip on the corners of some letters and scuffed another with the toothpick

obviously i will need to do these areas over; but overall for my first ever plasti dipping, i guess it I'm satisfied with how it came out in general. Call it a practice run.

I did 6 coats. Next time maybe a few more from the different angles

sorry no pics of the whole truck as it was starting to get dark, plus i was a little bummed about the mistakes.

Thanks for sharing. Do you have a more zoomed out view of the mount with a phone in it? What phone are you using? Would love to see it. I have the same mount but haven't installed yet and curious what it looks like. Also, what do you mean video is shaky in the mount? Does the mount itself bounce and vibrate around independently of the truck?

Had 1.25" spidertrax spacers laying around for awhile and got bored. Since doing my sliders and ditching the front mudflaps I was getting zero rub and tons of clearance on my body mount side, decided to put the spacers on and see how much more of my bumper I was going to have to trim back.

Well I was able to get another inch surprised the hell out of me. Now ton's of room up front and my tire only kisses my body mount when my tires are at lock and stuffed. Was planning on chopping the body mount regardless just to do it.

Bilstein 5100's set at 1.75" front, stock height rear, method NV 17x8.5 4.75" backspace, falken wildpeak 285/70/17, spidertrax 1.25" spacer. Prob Won't keep the spacers on don't like the idea with how heavy the wheel and tire setup is.

New TRD

Wife and I bought a new silver 4Runner TRD last week (not the Pro version). This is our second 4Runner in 10 years after getting lost in minivan land for the sake of children. We are taking it back to the dealership today to get a custom leather install (red and black leather).

We decided to go bold with red stitching on back leather with red accents on the lower back and inner seat cushion. We think this should be an interesting color combination. I'll post it when I'm able to. Our other car is a Evo X, so we are no strangers to modifications and doing bold things. I'm sure I'll grow into this community like other communities. Our truck came with some built in features (remote start, premium audio, running boards). I might ditch the running boards.

I think this is a much better vehicle for my older son to learn to drive in. Or at least it is safer than learning to drive the Evo. Cheers everyone!

Got my Switch-Pro installed. Need to clean up some of the wiring in the engine still but everything is working. Here is a picture of the switch panel mounted in the coin holder which no one uses. I made a bracket from a couple of pieces of ABS plastic and some 3M double sided tape. It doesn't move when I press on the buttons. Still need to figure out a way to hide the wires without cutting/drilling but this will work for now.

That's a great panel! Is there an advantage to going for this setup rather than switches in the available blank spots by the steering wheel?

Huge props to AirOnBoard.com with their customer service! My switch's indicator light went out - switch still worked though. Brought it up to them through their webpage and didn't hear anything back until I checked the mail Sunday and a brand new matching switch was delivered.

Switch replaced in less than a minute and working perfectly!
