If I hit her from behind, I wouldn't even bother posting here asking for opinions. Any time you hit anyone from behind you are at fault. No if ands or buts about it. As I stated in my post, I was in the left lane and she was in the right lane. She turned left into me. Anytime you get hit when merging lanes, you are at fault so she's at fault.

This is the damage to my car. If i hit her from behind, damage would be in the front and not the side.

Looks to me from the cam footage there is no doubt you maintained your lane and the other vehicle had to cross the line to strike you. I wouldn't expect either insurance to find you any portion liable. The footage will help your cause, so I'd absolutely be forthcoming with that.

Also, if there haven't been claims reported already, file one on her insurance policy as you have the information and can call in to report it. Definitely do not want to just assume the other driver did so. You may not even want to file one on your own policy unless their company creates an issue.

I filed a claim against her policy yesterday. Her insurance office made it sound like she was trying to put the blame on me so I filed a police report earlier today just to have on record. I told the officer I spoke with I have the footage from my rear dash camera showing my speed and that I maintained my lane at the moment of impact. She contacted the other driver to get a statement and she gave the officer the same story as me so the police report will have her as the guilty party in this accident! Now if my full replacement bumper would hurry up and get here....

Monitoring and Holiday Cheer

Got around to installing the Scanguage I ordered before I even took delivery on the 4runner. TPMS monitoring seems to be working well so far too.

Today I reached out to my local dealership for a quote on TRD Pro wheels just out of curiosity. Quoted me at $996.80 out the door for the wheels, center caps, and labor. Does that seem a little high?

One time a woman at a stop sign pulling out of a gas station randomly put her car in reverse and slammed right into my old truck behind her because “she forgot something at the store”. She tried telling the officer I had “illegally pulled out behind her” and the cop just laughed. Can’t fix stupid...

More Black Friday stuff arrived today.
Factor 55 hitchlink and Smittybilt shackle. I also put a locking hitch pin on because it's a very pretty thing. The red finish is a bit dazzling. Looks and will function much better than the rubber cap.

About a month back, I ordered a set of SSO sliders when they had free shipping.

Dropped them off to the powder coaters on monday, and picked them up today.

The install was easy and straight forward. I chased all the bolt holes before I started and no issues whatsoever.

Make sure you take this tab off first.


I've installed a lot of "precision fit" parts over the years and on many vehicles. I can tell you how happy I am that every damn hole lined up, everything was straight and true, and had no delays.


And the install only took about 2 hours from start to finish.

I didn’t get them to specify, my guess is that quote is before tax so if so it may not be that great of a deal. May be better off finding a set somewhere online and taking them to a local tire shop to mount and balance.

Exactly like [MENTION=104579]CRFofiddyF[/MENTION] said, between the hatch and the body, on the passenger side at the top. I ran a short extension cord from the lights to the plug on the lights to keep from shutting any of the lights in the door. Plus, if something were to happen it's cheaper and easier to replace the extension cord than to re-do all the lights.

They look brighter, and I like the color more. However, I fear the lack of focus may make them less effective than the original halogens. Will see soon.
