Realized it just as I made a right turn and heard it get pulled out as the cord went under the front wheel.

Luckily the plug bent right back into place, the extension cord survived, and the scuff buffed right out. Let's not do that again!

Last Monday Cris and I took a little trip up to the local mountains, to the town of Julian, for a 34th wedding anniversary
getaway. (A little early -- the actual date is this Sunday.) Last year we stayed at the historic Julian Gold Rush Hotel, and
enjoyed it so much we stayed there again this year. Except this time, instead of a room, we got the "patio cottage", a cozy
little cabin tucked behind the hotel. Really nice, and the extra seclusion and privacy was a bonus. Here are a few pics from

Hey, I did lights too!

They look brighter, and I like the color more. However, I fear the lack of focus may make them less effective than the original halogens. Will see soon.

I too installed lights this afternoon. 4300k xenon depot with Phillips upgrade. I accidentally broke off the clip from the wiring harness though but at least it still works.

How do you do that?

Press the selector button until your MPG is displayed. Then press and HOLD the button one more time and it will reset your counter. That's how it is on my 2016 anyway. May be different on early 5th gens.

I didn’t get them to specify, my guess is that quote is before tax so if so it may not be that great of a deal. May be better off finding a set somewhere online and taking them to a local tire shop to mount and balance.

Price seems fine to me too. Don't forget you'll need to swap TPMS. You can leverage taking your business to a 3rd party to get the dealership to swap those for free (~$150 value).

Ok, it was actually yesterday, but I got new tires. 285/70-17 Firestone Destination M/T2.
The sun was beginning to set by the time I picked up the truck, so this is the best pic I got.

Now I have the 5 stock Dunlops in the garage in case anyone needs a set. Only 3,000 miles on them.

Dust Cap for ARB Hose Coupler

Finally got this simple part to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the connector, Parker Hannifin Dust Protection Cap H8-66M. Supposedly ARB finally made cap as well which ships later this month, but I'm sure it will come at a higher cost.

Didn't feel like putting KO2s on there again huh? I'm in the market for new tires right now, just wondering why you ended up getting the Coopers. I'm looking at a wide variety of options.

Nope.. don't get me wrong, KO2s were awesome for what they were, but too much tire for my need. LT tire on 285 size would simply be unnecessarily heavy for me.

My off-road is mainly sand with very minor rock terrain.. still mostly tarmac driving. KO2s were not great on sand until deflated quite a bit. And the p rated tires easily outperform them on highway and wet tarmac. Hence my decision to go back to p rated tire like the Cooper vs the LT like the KO2

I'm also heavy with a rear bumper so high pressure needed on the LT tires = worse ride generally both tarmac and sand

KO2s still win on looks imo. And last forever

Haha... It's the Toytec Boss lift with 700lb front coils and Superflex HD rear coils. It also has Total Chaos UCAs.

Cool. I want KO2s simply because they're bad ass, but some P-rated are probably better for me as well. My rig is the daily driver and will only be off road here or there. I do plan on doing a bit of towing (under 5K lbs), but I am told some 115 load index should be adequate. I may end up with some Coppers as well. Looking admirably at the Falken Wildpeaks right now tho.
