What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Did you get the notice in the mail or electronically? I'm keeping a lookout for a recall notice on mine and have a VIN about 4300 vehicles after yours.

I actually got an email notice from CarFax. So I went to my Toyota.com/owners site where I track all my maintenance and saw it was legit. Called the dealer and scheduled. They're still going by age+climate zones so it depends on where you live.

Not today but a few days ago. Had to replace a leaking front axle seal because dealers won't touch my vehicle due to it's mods.

just curious here, how many miles did your rig have on it? did you replace the OEM needle bearing with the ECGS one?

Asking because i recently had mine replaced due to leaking on the driver's side just like yours and just assumed it was because of miles or age, but I wonder if its more common than we all think...

Exactly! I'm learning the same lesson as well.:thumb: Small dents and scratches, fender-benders, etc. have always bothered me.

My wife got her new professor-mobile, a 2018 Subaru CrossTrek (really neat car by the way) and we had it about a week when I opened to 4Runner door and it slipped out of my hands. Big ding right on the driver side door. I removed the door panel and managed to work most of it out but it's still there when you look closely.

Then my 16yr old rear-ended a C6 Corvette with his pristine little GTI. Messed up the Vette and crushed the front of the VW. No one was hurt and it fortunately did not blow the airbags. Fixing sh** was my Christmas project, stripping it down, bending things back into place, and replacing/repairing everything from the bent hood & smashed radiator support forward. Got it done and it looks really good.

Fortunately, I'm good at fixing things.

Looked at pictures the salesman sent of my new ride; blue offroad premium. After a few false starts it is finally here. Waiting on the TRD Pro grill and window tint to be installed before picking it up. There were two dealer trades that we were unable to get before finding one in port that I was able to configure the way I wanted. Sliding rear cargo tray purely so I can sleep in the back comfortably and roof just because. Considered the XP package but after looking around I should be able to get the TRD wheels, new tires, and C4 Fab sliders for the same money. Maybe even get a couple bucks out of my stock wheels and tires. I’d actually prefer the FX Pro wheels except for the center cap. The raised TRD cap looks better. Also considered SCS wheels but not sure I’d be happy with the simulated bead lock look and they seem to difficult to purchase.

Upcoming mods: Wheels, tires, Skottle, C4 Fab sliders, Gobi rack (start with factory cross bars to carry kayak), Squadron Pro fogs (start with Lamin-x), at some point suspension, solar and fridge (probably ARB). The list will grow but those are the base necessities.

I used to backpack a lot in addition to other endurance sports. Lately just been working too much. The 4Runner is a gateway to reclaim life and get back into adventure and exploration.

It has 43k miles on it. Very low miles for a leak to develop IMO but maybe taking it through deep pools/off-roading over the years that dirt and grit got lodged in the seal area creating the leak. I did not do the needle bearing as I haven't experience the symptoms Tacoma guys have. My friend replaced his axle seal/needle bearing at 55k miles on his Taco when he noticed a leak.

They're both Molot VEPRs. Left side is the 12 gauge (12-01), on the right is the FM-AK47-11 (7.62x39)

The brake on the shotgun is a GK-02. Works like a champ with full power slugs.

Took a quick trip down to visit the the guys at Metal Tech to pick up some new hardware.

Got one hell of a deal on these way back on Black Friday. Everyone else must have had the same idea, because they just notified me they were ready for pickup yesterday. Oh well. Happy to have them, and now on to the decision of paint, bed liner, or powder coat.

On a related note, anyone in the Portland area looking to buy a set of n-Fab steps? Only a year old and have a few very minor surface scratches with no rust.
