...What I found was the easiest way to avoid that situation is simply turn off, or disconnect, your garage-door opener as ya leave for a trip...:thumb3:

Installed some cheapo LED grill markers over the weekend (I know its not today). Building the wiring harness took majority of the install. I love how wide open the engine bay is on the 4runners. Makes everything so much easier to work on.

Yup I'm right there with you, im 6'4" so the added lift was not only for looks but functional too.
These steps area great buy but if you do any serious offroading i would suggest against them as they seriously like to catch on stuff. like rocks. ask me how I know.... But great quality nonetheless.
Picked up a new-to-me 2015 SR5 Upgrade over the weekend. It's charcoal grey and is just under 41k KM after the 700KM drive home. I'll get some photos after I get it inspected and registered.
I had a 2013 SR5 up until a month or so ago when the GR wrote it off (there were no injuries, airbags didn't even deploy)...
I must say that between the refresh in 2014 and having the upgrade package the 2015 feels a lot more luxurious than the 2013.
I have about 4 days until the factory comprehensive warranty expires and have to decide if I want to get an ECP. The costs up here in Canada are ridiculous ($2500 for the 5 year/120k KM platnium plan that would give me two more years of coverage) so I really don't think it is worth it. I briefly questioned this when the radio randomly rebooted a couple of times on the drive home but after a bit of research it looks like this is likely a software issue. Worst case scenario I'll replace the factory unit with something aftermarket.

Are they legal in CA? I know there are laws for those and just thinking that they finally got tired of people still being able to order them online.

Today my Bismarck passed the annual inspection. Zero issues. Last fall they changed inspection rules so I had a chance to look what is inspected:
- braking force of main brake (each wheel),
- braking force from e-brake (rear wheels),
- response from shock absorber (each wheel),
- entire suspension front and rear,
- steering for possible loose,
- condition of tires (excluding the spare one)
- all exterior lights (excluding light bar
) including headlight aiming
- horn
- Vin numbers on the door jam, through windshield, on the body under the hood and on the frame (all must match registration)
- odometer (not many cars in Poland have it in miles)
- visual inspection for rust, leaks or loose and missing parts (under the hood, body and under).
Guy asked me about the frame treatment - he was impressed with this stuff and never heard of Fluid Film before.

How difficult is the installation? Any cutting and splicing or is it plug and play?
Hmm I wonder if that's it. I remember a Toyota dealer asking me several months ago if I had considered one -- they were seemingly asking me if I wanted to have them order and install one.

It is all plug and play, no splicing of wires. The most difficult part are removing the panels and being careful not to break anything. It took me like 3-4 hours. It was my first time dismantling the dash.
After everything is installed you need to program the ecu. You can go to the dealership to have this done or you can do it on your own.
I bought a "VXDIAG VCX Nano Toyota and Lexus Diagnose and Programming Tool Compatible with J2534" ($80 from amazon) it comes with Techstream software from toyota. Installed it on an old laptop running windows xp and programming done in 5mins.
