As I was leaving the desert last Thursday following my hike into Carrizo Gorge, Megaweapon took a bit of damage. On the way out, there's a steep, pitted drop. It's not bad if you hit it at the right angle, but I miscalculated this time. The passenger side corner of the rear bumper scraped going over the drop, and the part that comes around to the wheel well popped loose:
I'm hoping it can just be popped back in place, so I won't have to pay for a replacement.

Mine has popped loose like that about 50 times while offroading, lol. Just pop it back into place and put the fender screws in. Good as new.
Literally hand painted with a brush using the G2 system purchased on Amazon. Truck was brand new, so calipers weren't that dirty. I just sprayed them using the kit supplied brake cleaner.
Stickers were also from Amazon. Get the high temp ones

I like it. My only complaint so far is the texture is a little rougher than my Sako TRG22. Some people will like a rougher feel, but I'm looking for consistency between the two. The price point is very hard to beat and the shape is just like the TRG. I suppose if the texture was really that distracting, I could just run some 1000 grit sandpaper over it to soften up the feel. So far, I'm not distracted enough.

Can’t remember the company name but they pop up on FB all the time. Its a magnet “holster” made for cars. Would work perfect inside the safe.

I took Megaweapon in the to the dealer today to have them check out that detached bumper. The guy tried to push it back in place but had no more luck than I'd had. He thinks the mounting points at the rear (below the tail light) may be damaged. Also, one of the tabs for the fender screws is definitely broken off.
He sent me to a body shop, the body shop guy said the same thing and gave me an estimate of over $1300 to fix it, including a new bumper cover!
Sounds way too high to me, and so far no one has actually pulled the bumper cover off to find out for sure what damage, if any, there actually is. So I'm debating what my next course of action should be.

At $1300 for a replacement stock bumper I hate to say, I would have to start looking at a steel bumper especially as much as you wheel.
The problem with that is you still have to fix the bumper cover, because no rear bumper i’ve seen goes up that far.

Just yank cover off & see what's busted yourself ! Did mine & f-d it up putting in trail lights & ordered another cover from rockauto just haven't got off my ass yet to do it ! Like [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] said its just clips & stuff .

Nice set of photos Ray. Thanks for posting the link. I read about that train line and the big trestle recently. I'd like to hike Goat Canyon to reach the big old wood trestle.
