Yeah I agree, but that’s when I’ll rent a truck for 20 dollars. Love my 4runner. Had the itch to trade for a tundra but waiting for the new design, maybe later I’ll get me a double cab for hauling crap. Cheers!

I'm glad you've had great experiences with them... I ordered my rear bumper from them the beginning of April. I call and they tell me it'll be shipped before memorial day. Didn't happen. Then I called this Tuesday, they said it would be shipped that day or Wednesday morning. I still have not gotten notification. I understand it's across the country, but tell me upfront that it's going to take awhile. Don't tell me you're looking at my bumper and it's going to be sent out.

Finished the shelf in the back. I'm a huge fan of clear totes and I wanted something that utilized the factory cargo tray (I use it as my cooking surface). Way more storage that I used to have, and the entire thing was less that $50 to build. All of the wood was cut from a single sheet of 1/2 in. MDF. I doubled up the top as the 1/2 in. MDF just wasn't strong enough on its own. I coated it in some black Behr DeckOver that was oops'd at Home Depot for $9. I have the cut sheet and measurements if anyone is interested in duplicating. The 1/2 in. sides fit snugly on either side of the drawer, but still allow it to pull in and out.
The totes on top are from WalMart/Target and the totes on the bottom are the 46 qt. weathertite totes from The Container Store. They actually have a foam srip around the inside of the lid and are surprisingly weather resistant. Four of these totes are nearly the exact size of our factory cargo tray. This same design will also work with the Front Runner Wolf Pack totes, however they are a bit shorter, have less interior room and cost more than twice as much ($40 vs. $17).

My 5'x10' utility trailer has way more capacity than a truck. It's a good solution if you need to haul things with a 4runner

Awesome! I too am AF, but got the colder, more desolate assignment - Eielson. My family and I made the drive up here (in a '16 Outback), and I have no regrets whatsoever. It's an amazingly beautiful drive! We entered through Sumas, just north of Seattle. Breathtaking views all the way through BC and the Yukon.
I did NCOA at JBER. Cool base, and an awesome city surrounding it. Kenai peninsula is astonishingly beautiful, and the base is centrally located between so many awesome places to take your Runner. Excited for ya. Enjoy!

I would be very interested in the measurements! Been looking to build something similar for a trip in August.

Had a nice cool afternoon yesterday so I was able to get out and do some more work on the truck, first here's a better pic of how I ran the wiring for the engine bay light behind the hood skirt since I didn't really take one the other day.
A few months back, Rago Fab had a "Garage Sale" and had some ditch light brackets along with 6 LED ditch light pods on sale for a ridiculous price, and the whole package cost less than their brackets normally, so I jumped on them. I never really thought I would be putting these on the truck, but for the price and the chance to supplement my 32" LED bar, I said wth. The brackets mount right to the hood bolts and open and close with the hood.
Here they are all installed, I think they'll compliment my black on blue theme nicely.
Getting the lights mounted was the trickiest part, once I got the brackets figured out, I went to work on the wiring.
Wanted to make it as simple and clean as I could so I used connectors, usually I'd just solder and be done with it.
I originally tried fishing the passenger side wire through the hood, but my gf wasn't home and I didn't have anyone to help me fish it out the other side, after about 20 minutes I gave up and ran it along the firewall where I plan to run my amp power wire. I was OCD and tucked it way back and ziptied it up so you can't see any of it and it's nice and stealth.
Then I connected the wires and packaged them all up nice with some heatshrink, after that i wrapped the whole thing in electrical tape and tucked the wires down and ziptied them out of sight.
Here you can see the wiring all tied up and neat, I tried to make it as clean as possible so it's out of the way.
Here's the lights all mounted up on the hood and wired up.
I'm still getting used to them being there, driving this morning with them in view was interesting, I'm debating getting a low profile bracket that would lower them a bit, but for what I paid for the whole set I am very happy with them.
I didn't get a chance to wire up the switch on the inside, I got the wires fished into the cabin but had to go to dinner with the gf, so I will finish that up this evening.

Looks really nice. But what do you do about a cooler/fridge? My Yeti cooler takes up about half the back.
Here ya go! Keep in mind, I used one full sheet of MDF which actually measures 97 in. X 49in. The "Bottom" pieces are the pieces I used to double up the top shelf. They were both glued and screwed to the underside of the top with 3/4 in. screws. If you also use MDF, you really have to pre-drill all screw holes to prevent splitting. Spax makes an MDF specific screw, but I found I had to pre-drill those as well due to 1/2 in. being pretty thin.
I'm glad you asked! Since it's just the Mrs., myself and our two dogs, I've removed the seat bottoms from the back seats for our trips. This is very easy to do and opens up a good amount of free space. The area behind the passenger seat is home to our folding chairs and then topped with a dog bed and blanket. The seat back behind the driver's seat is folded down and is home to our cooler. With the seat bottoms removed, there is plenty of room behind the driver's seat for our water and miscellaneous storage.

Got my awning mounted to the stock rails temporarily. Apparently my Gobi will be shipping in the next few weeks according to an email I received yesterday, but I need the awning for a trip to Montana next weekend.

Finished stage 1 of mods on my new TRDOP. 2” front spacer lift, rear trim spacers, new 275 AT51 tires, and alignment.
Love the TRD wheel caps! Are they from the Tacoma wheels, I could never find a part # for the black ones that said they would fit on the 4runner wheels.
Much easier solution, etsy! The Toyota “T” pops off and stick on new logos.
