Few add-ons

Got my skid plate installed (which took wayyy longer than i had hoped... get the thread chaser ahead of time people. Not to mention the holes in the plate itself didn't line up perfectly so i had to drill them out bigger)

Painted my roof rails black satin and added a red pinstripe to add to the whole black and red theme I've got going on.

Put my TRD windshield banner on as well...

Added some LED's to the Tail Gate.. Used an Under Hood LED kit minus the switch. LED set only illuminates when the Hatch is open, there is no manual control installed yet. Tapped into the Red and Blue wires from the Hatch lights. There are 4 24" strips in total.

Light output is impressive, it could serve as campsite lighting in a pinch.

That looks very good - nice clean install. Any description and/or pics of the installation process?

Haha it was actually the parade lap, I wasn't allowed to go faster than 50. I was in Austin with a group of friends one of which was tracking his miata. Ended up having to tow it back to Dallas because of engine problems.

Pedal Commander

Added a Pedal Commander. Only got to take a short spin with it as it was getting late, but so far I like it.

As many have stated it does not add power or make the truck faster. I would probably describe it as taking some of the "dead feel" out of the gas pedal. It feels a lot more directly connected and less laggy. Based on my initial drive and watching the instant mileage on my scanguage, it seems like just breathing on the gas makes the mileage fall off, but I'll have to keep an eye on that over time.

Mounted it temporarily just under the Party Mode button because now there's a Party Mode on my gas pedal. I got the Bluetooth model so it can ultimately be tucked away, likely when I open up the dash to install my anytime backup camera wiring and front camera hookup.

Haha, as I was writing I was thinking "this would make more sense with a picture" but I pulled off the awning before I took one so I could run the car through the car wash to get 1000 miles of bugs off everything.

This is the kind of u-bolt I'm talking about (except larger).

I just went to Lowe's with the OEM crossbar bolt to figure out what thread it was (I think it's M6 if I remember correctly) and then grabbed a couple of bolts with the same thread but like twice as long and lockwashers and threaded that through the front-most awning bracket hole then just "wrapped" the u-bolt around the rear-most part of the awning bracket and tightened the flatbar part of the ubolt down onto the top of the bracket. It kind of floats above the crossbar but it seemed to work fine. Worst case, you could jam some cardboard underneath it if you're worried about fluttering or something.

Fabricated my own awning mount. Saw another member post that used a tree limb trimmer and attached it to my Front Runner rack. Pretty affordable setup and I expect it will work great.

That's a great shot. I need head to over there and run some of those roads. I haven't explored nearly as much of ONP as I'd like to.

I've done some exploring four or five times. There's a shit ton of roads out there. Some of them can be kind of terrifying going solo but that was also because it was more difficult than I expected to figure out what roads are open and what roads are closed since there are so damn many of them. Plus I'm an off-road newb so I'm not 100% confident in what the vehicle is capable of or what I'm willing to deal with.
