What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I stopped off today to ask the installed some questions that I thought I overlooked on the SC install. Turns out I probably want some gauges to better monitor the engine than the one useless idiot light. He showed me some digital displays instead of analog gauges like I had expected. I recalled something about a data-link that could display the same info obtained from the ECU. Of course I just spent 6 hours reading up on the iDataLink Maestro-RR connection that I think I'm going to use.

Twist my arm this also means replacing the loathsome EnTune head unit, which I was going to do eventually anyway. I was waiting on Wireless AndroidAuto which rolled out a few months back. Unfortunately Alpine doesn't seem to have anything I like available, so it's back to a high end Kenwood DNX995S. I'm on the fence about a DIY install which I can probably handle, or paying a reputed pro shop (more $$$ and a rental car).
Of course this is more than I was planning on doing at once. Being as I'm in the truck for the work commute 6 days a week, at least I'll get to enjoy it while going to/from the overtime shifts to pay for it.

I'm in the same situation as you. I would prefer Alpine or Pioneer, but Kenwood is the only one that has anything good with wireless Android Auto right now. I also can do it myself, but yeah, it is a hell of an undertaking, and I'm also not satisfied with the replacement dash pieces available since I have black interior. I'm pretty much in a holding pattern until something truly impressive comes out and I just have the motivation to go ahead and dive in.

I took the wife and kids on a road trip to the Ouchita National Forest in Hot Springs, Arkansas on my new shoes, BFG All Terrain KO2’s. I got 20 MPG and it was super quiet on the highway. Trying to convince the fam to come with me to the Hot Springs Off Road Park. Any good guides for a noob?

Nice setup. Do the rear spacers make it feel much stiffer in the rear? I just bought billies (5100’s) but haven’t installed yet. Debating spacers to start or just go all in with new coils. My KO2’s don’t look nearly as aggressive on stock SR5 rims. Do you have spacers or do the TRD wheels have different offset?

Painted/stuck on the overlays for the rear emblems. I wanted it to match the TOYOTA across the front, so I bought the overlay kit and painted them. Not an exact match if you hold them next to each other, but pretty darn close.

Hardwired my dash cam ROAV C1 Pro and the Valentine 1. Much better than having the cords hanging in front of the radio.
