What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Just installed today. I drilled the hole in the dust cap. It didn't seem right to have all that cable plus the driver box jammed in there. I'm worried already about heat dissipation, so I wanted less in contact with hot parts, especially cable.

Also, I noticed my stock DRLs stopped working once I hooked these up. Same for you? I imagine I need to replace the 9005 bulbs with the latest LED kit for those. High beams work fine, though.

Yeah, maybe I'll go ahead and run the wires out. I wonder just how hot those heat sinks are going to get..... I just really don't want to have all those extra wires and such hanging around...

Anyway, I just checked and yeah, my DRLs don't turn on while driving anymore. They turn on when I switch the parking lights on, but not while the switch is off and the vehicle is in gear (like they used to). Guess I'm going to have to buy those 9005 bulbs as well!

Installed a fire extinguisher with a Drake mount onto the Rago MSP.

How do you like it? The Drake is about half the price of the RAGO. Does it feel secure?

So far it's good but it does rattle a little bit. It comes with a little piece of rubber inserted in the groove to minimize movement but it needs to be larger, I'm planning on addressing that to help it rattle less. Driving on pavement I don't hear anything but then it's at the very back of the truck.

Drake is machined aluminum and made in China but Rago looks to be all steel and made in the US which is why it's so much more expensive. Rago looks way beefier and better built and higher quality but I'm not sure it really needs to be that strong unless you are racing a Baja truck or really going bonkers on a rocky trail. For my purposes the Drake works fine.

I ordered heavy duty clamps from Amazon to mount the bottle to the Drake mount.

Not my 5th gen, but started disassembly of my 2005 tonight. Not to bad for about 3.5 hours of work and my first time digging into one of these engines. Heads are coming off tomorrow night. Not sure if there is any valve damage, engines are said to be non interference but I have no way to know and I really don't want to pull all this apart again. Never hurts rebuild heads with 250K miles on them anyway.

Make sure the LEDs are oriented “left-right” instead of “up-down” to get uniform light output with minimal hot spots

So, I oriented them left-right, and now the beam pattern is all jacked up. Are you sure you didn't orient them up-down??

Anyone else have experience/advice on the adjustments for Xenon Depot Xtreme LED?

Did Camburg BJ UCAs, alignment, and 285/75R17 Toyo AT2. I did a bmc and used a BFH on the pinch weld to massaged a few spots. Good so far!

Swapped out front crappy fog lights for new LED 2018 Toyota Tundra Fog Lights. THEY FIT AND WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Removed HID bulbs and put in Morimoto 2.0 LED Bulbs and replaced the light covers with new ones. They fit perfectly and ALL wiring fits in the bulb housing.

WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got notification from Xenon-Depot that my hi-beam bulbs have shipped with the doohickey that will still leave 200 lm at DRL and 1750 lm at full hi-beam.

Next planning this saturday of swapping out the 20" limited wheels and tires for 17" SR5 wheels and Michelin Defender P265/70 R17 tires.

But did he? The original filter had an arrow pointing UP. This filter's arrow is also pointing UP. If the arrow indicates airflow on both filters, he has it right regardless of the text being upside down on the new filter.

Its confusing because some filters give you an arrow to install for orientation alone, like the original. However, if a different filter states which direction "air flow" is than you need to have the arrow down, because airflow is from the top. That way gravity keeps the junk in the filter.
