What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Just watch those ridge grapplers in the rain. They are TERRIBLE for the first 3000 miles and then they get better but still not great. There are a boat load of complaints all over about them for this very reason.

Would riding down some gravel roads speed up the process for RGs for wet traction?

Would riding down some gravel roads speed up the process for RGs for wet traction?

Honestly don't know. When I first got them, I almost lost it on an entrance ramp I took many times with my KO2's without issue. Back end slid out, stability and traction control kicked in and thankfully brought it back. I was ready to take them off but a good and trusted friend that also has them on her 4R told me to give them a little time and they will get better. I did wait, they did get better, but I was still not in love with them. Dry road driving, snow traction, both great but rain was mediocre. I ended up taking them off at 5900 miles and went with the Falken Wildpeak AT3W which are amazing tires in all weather. Just really wish they came in a 295 but as of now they do not. The RG is not a bad tire by any means, you just have to be more careful in the rain is all. For a fair comparison, I was running an E rated 295/70/17 on a 17x8 wheel at 33 PSI Did a chalk test and 33 PSI provided the best contact patch.

Thanks for the details. Next year I am doing the sr5 with lift and tires and keep coming back, at least in my mind, to ko2s and at3w. KO2 is leading since I live in the desert but I still have time and maybe the ko3s will be out by the time I'm ready. Those are pretty much my final contenders.

Original KO was out for 15 plus years before the KO2 came out which is pretty new so I wouldn't hold my breath on the KO3 lol. both are solid choices though.

hahah...in strobe mode, absolutely. In constant, it's bright and i'm sure it would be super annoying if you were tailgating me that close, but given a few car distances, it would be tolerate for you to follow me off road.
