...Finally Re-Installed ALL My Mods!

...Howdy, Folks!...:cowboy:

...Yesterday I completed the re-install of ALL the mods I had on my 2018 TRD-OR before Banzai-Bambi the Kamikaze-Deer totaled it after 8-1/2 months of customizing.....:ybrick:

...I have added them back onto my 2019 TRD-OR....and the only things left to do is black-out all the plasti-chrome and wheels....but doubt it will hold due to sub-freezing temps here in Montana?....:noidea:

...Rather than clutter-up the forum with more additional pics...I will just list the mods here...and post a few pics from my last fun drive of the year to one of my favorite places:

1)...added AVS visors to all the door windows....
2)...added the AVS hood-deflector onto, of all places...the hood..
...( or bonnet, if you're from the UK?! )...
3)...replaced All the interior lights with LEDs...
4)...replaced the backup lights with bright LEDs...
5)...replaced the low-beam headlights with 5000K HIDs....
6)...added LFD Heavy-Duty cross-bars on the stock rails....
7)...added a custom platform on the cross-bars to access a Yakima Skybox-16...
8)...added a Gobi-Ladder to the back hatch...
9)...installed a rear-cargo-sliding-deck inside the back....
10)...bolted a large locking cargo-box to the sliding-deck for my gear...
11)...re-installed the custom sleeping-platform to the passenger-side of the interior...
12)...removed the rear seats before 9, 10, and 11...
13)....applied my 'Support The Right To Arm Bears' logos on the doors...
14)...took it out for a short fun drive...

ps:...What took 8-1/2 months before....I finished in 3 weeks this time!
...of course...this time I had all the items here already..and the holes were all pre-drilled, etc....plus didnt have to wait 4-1/2 months for the ladder, either!

Got back from the desert

The valleys were flooded mud bogs and the summits were covered in ice, so most of our destinations were unreachable. I guess that last storm dumped a lot more water than I knew. I went off the road twice, but both times I didn't hit anything except sagebrush. My son almost rolled us at high speed, but he didn't, so I guess that's how we learn.

Great trip anyway, with petroglyphs, bald eagles, a burro, many wild horses, and still no antelopes. Trolled the old Hilton ranch, then showed my son the finer side of Ferntucky: you know you're near Fernley, NV, when you start finding torched cars.

What exactly have you got going on in the floor? Did you first build some platform to mount the fork mount? What size bike is that? I may like to do this myself when mtb season rolls around again...

Bed sleep shelf

Wrapped up our custom bed sleep/shelf system. Easy to add and remove, decent storage underneath and to the sides, fold into the trunk when not in use, and does not interfere with reclining the back seats.

I'll probably do a more in-depth post on my personal website eventually. But you can get the basic idea...

yes grab handle! Sorry for the 2017 annotation confusion but no 5th GEN comes with an A-pillar grab handle:

I Purchased a passenger side grab handle and the the two covers over the bolt mounting holes.

I fabricated a custom bracket for the BOTTOM hole as the top hole i used the existing bolt hole that is hiding under the "SRS CURTAIN AIRBAG" pop out. the top hole has a bracket that is the same build quality as the passenger side brackets - as if toyota may have intended to install a grab handle but decided not to. the space is there for mounting a custom bracket for the bottom hole. no issue with space at all.

Top bolt:
1. I had to install a metal spacer because a gap is formed between the handle and the top bolt mount surface hiding under the "SRS CURTAIN AIRBAG" pop out plug.

2. longer bolt of course M6x1.0x35mm

Bottom Bolt:
1. 5/16 - 18 x 2 inch long bolt with washer.

2. custom bracket mounted to the A pillar structure.

3. drilled hole and modifed the A piller trim interior plastic "CLIP" that helps hold the A pillar trim in.

Finished:
outcome is awesome! very oem clean install - exactly what everyone seems to complain about online and all these "top 5 things i hate about my 4runner youtube videos"

Ill post more pics and a stand alone thread later. as the bracket i designed is very basic and works just fine for an unseen bracket.

Got my winch mounted in my bumper finally. Was able to do it without taking the bumper off. Just loosened the bolts to let it sag forward and removed the top grill. Eased right in decently.

you can get a flip up license plate for your fairlead on amazon for 20 bucks...... it'll make your install cleaner. just fyi

...Been Too Busy To Post!

...Loong ago last year.....( OK...so maybe a few days ago, really? )....

...I took a quick trip to hike to one of the local falls near Bozeman....

...It is a Very popular destination in the summer....to the point that it is damn near impossible to get a clear shot of it without folks in the way!...

...So, figured I would check it out in the winter to see what it looked like now...

..I wasn't there for 10 minutes by myself before other folks started turning up!

...The dirt road in has not been plowed this season...so it had deep ruts in the snow...and it was fun...but looked like it could be easy to get stuck if ya lost speed?

...Below I will post a pic from summer...so Y'all can compare:

...As I finally finished re-installing ALL the mods on the newer truck after Banzai-Bambi the Kamikaze-Deer destroyed my previous new truck...decided to start the new year out by takin it out for a shakedown-cruise to see if anything rattled or was loose.....

...On the way...stopped for gas and saw a unique daily-special?...:shrug:

...Drove down to one of my favorite places...but the side road was NOT plowed out....so had to give up on the plan...but nearby...came across these critters!

...the temp was minus -9...with a nasty wind of about 25 mph...so it was officially cold...I knew that cos within 15 seconds of steppin outta the truck...my mustache turned to concrete!

...Some of them had ear-tags...and a few had transmitters on their necks...so they are being studied and tracked....


...That made the trip a success after all!...:thumb3:

My cousin told me the same thing. He wasn't fond of how it is right now either lol. Doesn't look right, I know. I'll probably end up doing that or some type of magnetic mount.

Got the T4R back from the detailer. Had all the pin stripping cleaned up, big door ding removed and truck ceramic coated. Only problem is its too nice to wheel now
