Installed the arclights dome light today. Pretty easy install but had to modify the metal clip that’s behind the bulb holder; as it wouldn’t let the new bulb blank thru per the instructions(the hole in the instructions was much larger than what I had.) The instructions also made it seem like there was room to double sided tape the driver to the cavity above; but I have a sunroof so it wasn’t possible. Instead I stuck it to the top side of the assembly and it fit great.

Been sticking to cheap/weekend mods for a little while. Started with an easy one: Raptor lights. It is a super easy mod that takes a couple hours max.

I opted for small circle LEDs.

Wiring tucked in and ziptied out of the way.

Lets just agree that Today is a very relative term.

I finally got my sleeping platform where I like it. My main priorities were it had to be easily removable so I could turn back into a daily driver since I need the third row to hold children. It travels in the rear so the back seat is still accessible and then when it is time to camp it slides into a full platform that can (snugly) fit 2 adults.

I traded in my 2016 4Runner Trail in October to finally get back into a Mustang. THE Mustang. A Shelby GT350. Unfortunately, I'm not in Houston anymore so Seattle isn't really conducive to driving a hot rod. I couldn't stay away very long so now I'm back.

Don't really have any regrets as this lesson hopefully made me realize where I'm at with performance vehicles in that right now isn't really the right time. It also allowed me to test out a KDSS equipped vehicle which my 2016 wasn't, and honestly, I really like the KDSS.

So yeah, don't do what I do. But since this is a 4Runner forum, here's the new ride:

Unfortunately, many of us have lost great deals of money on cars. I did the same thing with my BMW M235i to get back into my 4Runner. Live and learn :shrug:

That she certainly was. Unfortunately, for the type of driving I was using and my comfort with expensive wear items and most likely only being able to handle going to a couple track days a year, which are expensive as well, I just didn't feel like I would give it the life it deserves. But gahdamn it's a sexy car so I'm going to miss looking at it every day. At least I got photos though!

We all gotta make our own decisions based on the information we have at the time. Not a huge deal. I didn't really lose my ass on it - of course the trade-in value was $5k lower than private party, but I saved $5k in taxes by trading it in so it was basically a wash assuming I didn't just sell it and not buy another vehicle. I never let myself get underwater on loans so it's not like I've put myself in a dangerous spot. Just sucks looking at the numbers objectively lol.

Yep! It's great to be back in a 4Runner and be able to drive around without a care in the world of potholes, curbs, whatever the road throws at you.

Plus, with the KDSS, it feels ever so slightly more like a sports car so I can appreciate that.

Hey, you only live once, and you can't take anything with you when you die! As long as it doesn't put your family (if you have one) in any financial crisis, it's all good!
