Wow, yeah the drain valve with some tubing hooked it sounds like it should be on your radar. I still have yet to do an oil change since putting my RCI skids on, about 1k miles out. Now I am wondering, lol

It's an absolute necessity with skid plates. 1) makes it cleaner 2) makes it faster. There are no down sides to it.

Definitely not. I don't trust them, just don't sit right with me. Also looks like it would sit lower than the opening in the skid which I feel would end up getting torn off. I'll drop the 4 bolts for the skid plate every 5K miles it's not that big a deal. Last oil change was April 11th 2018, it took me 9 months to put 5K miles on it which is normal for me. I just wish I knew this before hand that way I didn't have to drop the skid anyway AND have to clean it lol. Not the end of the world, I love the skid in general, just doesn't do anything for making oil changes easier is all.

I'd like to know what you think of them after! Wondering if this is my fix.
After I or a shop has tightened my bolts to 129lbft of torque, my bolts still eventually pop. I can tighten them right away, gas the truck forward about a foot and slam on the brakes, they come loose. I've even come from a shop after an alignment, made a u-turn and they still popped and came loose. I was able to retighten at home.

Interesting, do your cam tabs look bent? I haven’t had an issue yet, just beefing everything up for this years trips. I can say that these definitely add some support to that area, which is very thin from the factory.

Tried H4 with stock tires in 5" of fresh snow, with a little slush but no ice underneath, some roads not plowed, some modest hills. No problem. H2 also works under these conditions. Deeper snow, stronger winds, steeper hills, more icy patches would be a better test.

Throw some real tires under it, OEM tires are trash. You will be amazed at how much better is rides and handles in literally every condition even just dry weather. It's a shame Toyota builds such a capable vehicle and throws poor quality street tires under it.

Got some sliders from Slee Offroad. I don’t do a ton of really rocky off-roading, but it’s nice to have the protection and they double as great steps. I had someone open their door into them today too, so there’s that added bonus. That person’s door was pretty dinged up, not a mark on the sliders though. I’ve gone through a couple pairs of sliders before these and that’s only because they didn’t work as steps. The T4R is a daily driver and family vehicle, so having the running boards for the wife and kid was necessary. If anyone has used those factory running boards on anything other than a dry day though, you know they’re garbage. The tread plates on the Slee sliders are open and let everything drain out, and the traction is spot on. If anyone is looking for both sliders and steps these are a great option. They’re pricey, but worth it for me. I had Slee install them and their facility was great for anyone in the Northern Colorado area that would need to wait until the install is finished.

They are a great tire but on the expensive side. The Falken WIld Peak AT3W is another great option at a much lower price. They're what i'm currently running and they're one of the best tires I've ever used.
