TRD skid plate

Installed the 2019 TRD skid plate on my 2018 TRD Off Road.

Not much snow around Salem this winter, have a new Sienna AWD and really wanted to try it in snow. Left the 4Runner at home, (felt bad) and went to the local mountains.

Stopped on some packed snow and ice, hit the gas and it drove right out a few times. It did very well.

But very different than my TE, takes getting used to. No transfer case, no shift lever, no low range, limited wheel spin due to throttle control. Can not find a recovery point unless I add a trailer hitch. Does the job but is very different. Need more snow to play some more.

The TE with M/T will take off quicker with good wheel spin until I let off the gas -- much more fun.

Guess we have a family vehicle and a fun vehicle. Next snow it's 4Runner time.

installed the blackout emblem kit today. Didn't like how the "SR5" looked like a blob, so just removed them all together, which I understand increases the off road capability by a factor of three.

...We have been gettin dumped on with snow here in SW Montana this week...

...The other morning we got about 6-inches in the morning, so after clearing off the driveway, I decided to go out and snap some pics, even tho it was still kinda snow-flurries...making it fairly dark with flat lighting conditions...but the trees were gettin just loaded with nice fluffy white stuff!

...Even tho I could not see the mountains, the drive was still quite gorgeous...and my 4Runner was lovin playin in the snow!

XenonDeport HIDs and LEDs

Installed the XenonDepot lights I ordered after the change in ownership people have been talking about. The lights took about two weeks to arrive after I ordered. Although a little concerning initially that it took that long, the lights are amazing and very straight forward to install. The LED DRL/High beams work amazing with the new DRL ballast to support lower power needs. And the high beams are insane. The HIDs are soooo much better than stock bulbs. A fun and mostly simple project. I just had a minor polarity issue with the LEDs, but quickly figured it out.

Installing RCI metal skids in the morning and SPOD Bantam in the afternoon.

Great fit. Whats the make/model of that doohickey?

Yeah, I was surprised...I just picked it up at O'Reilly Auto Parts because we needed more USB ports. When I went to put it in, it fit perfectly into that little opening that didn't seem to have much purpose otherwise. Only issue is that if there's a cup in the front cup holder, it can interfere with plugging/unplugging.

I don't have the packaging any more, but will run by O'Reilly to see if I can get a pic of the item/#.

Wow! That is gorgeous! What town are you in? My family (the Crowleys) had a ranch near Logan...my grandfather was born there. ;-)

Projectors are coming along. Last thing to paint is the bowls. I was going to leave the HB bowl reflective and blackout the LB, but I’m thinking it might look weird. So I might black out both bowls since I’ve got bi-xenon projectors
