What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Today I stuffed some 305's in these fender wells.

So after two weeks...it already has surface rust from poor quality powdercoating. Wilco made it out like it wasn't their fault. Had to remove everything including my hitch and get lineX to help out. The rotopax mount and license plate mount going in for quality powdercoating. If anyone is considering a wilco tire hitch mount get it linex or repowdercoated immediately. Wilco can suck a D...hope they end up in Pelfreybilt's situation.

Upgrading my rear springs with the OME heavy, just ordered ditch lights. Everything should be installed by next weekend.

I still don't understand what moving the tire is for

33s can fit under the truck. Anything bigger cant fit. Its also loads easier to get to the spare on the back of the vehicle on the trail. I slashed a tire sidewall on a trail and didnt have a hilift. Limped it to a side of the trail where two vehicles can pass and used the scissor jack to gain just enough clearance to change the wheel out.

Just depends on how you wheel. I've benefitted from it. On long trips I like to take the factory spare under the truck then my full size 33s on the back. Peace of mind. Two is one, one is none.

Yesterday I finished my comms. Antenna mounts in and permanent power source.

Easier trail access makes sense. Thank you.

How much trimming, cutting, hammering? Looks great, love those wheels. On my possible list but in black.

A good amount of trimming and cutting. Didn't have to break out the BFH yet.

I took about 1-1.5" off the front bumper and pulled the liner forward using zip ties. This was enough to prevent rubbing on the bumper under normal driving conditions. If I quickly take a sharp hairpin turn or turn right up onto a driveway, I will rub on the bumper. I will take more off the bumper this weekend to fix that.

I had to also cut some of the rocker panel trim piece behind the tire, as well as the pinch weld under that trim.

I took a heat gun to the back side of the front fender liner to form a bit more clearance there. Seems like under heavy flex, the tire might catch the liner there still so I may trim it higher and seal using some sort of rubberized spray.

And of course, a BMC.

That should be about it for regular street driving. I know I'm not out of the woods yet in terms of rub occurring off road, and I may have to take a hammer to the back wall of the front fender for a bit more room. But all in all it's looking good so far.

Loving these F5's a lot!

mounted new wheels and rubber... 285s rub, need to heat up the fender liners up front. Debating on the SSO Stage 2 clearance mod.
