What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

An often ignored upgrade in the hi-beams is the 9011 Bulb in place of the OEM 9005...
Total cost of a pair of 9011 on Amazon is about $45, and DRL and flashing and everything still work like you want them to.

What's the difference between 9011 B1 and 9011 C1 bulbs? I'm looking at these 9011 B1 bulbs: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Standard-Halogen-Replacement-Headlight/dp/B00480J5CW. But there's also these C1 bulbs: https://www.amazon.com/PHILIPS-9011C1-Philips-Light-Bulb/dp/B007XMLPTI

Didnt have to disable or remove anything except the regular valve stem caps to put on the sensor caps. easy.

Mine is a 2019 sr5.

I tried what the person said about how to change between C and F, but there was no option for that in the settings on the unit i have. Though im not too concerned about tire temps anyways so that doesnt bother me. You can easily set a max temp and it will alert you if you go over it if that was a concern.


Its a very simple quick mod for displaying tire pressure. Thats all i wanted.

Thank you omce again. I read on the FAQ page that conflicts could occur with both functioning and suggested disabling the OEM system. Though I’d think the Tymate system would simply be monitoring independent of the OEM system thus no conflict.

I’m about to swap out the OEM tires for BFG All Terrains and I regularly air down off road and I like this system to keep an eye on things in real time.

Added this to my center console:

What's it for? This:

Holds my 1-inch LE CREE LED flashlight (https://www.amazon.com/Flashlight-Tactical-Adjustable-Brightness-Batteries/dp/B01MEFZKCB/). 3M two-sided tape holds them in. Flashlight drops in with little resistance.

Evidently it's a GPS tracker that dealers use when they finance the sale of a vehicle, just in case, y'know, they have to repo the thing. It was daisy-chained to my OBDII port. (Note: I did not finance the purchase, so it's from a previous dealer.)

Now, what to do with it?

I just bought an ‘18 SR5 in July, paying for it in full. What telltale signs are easiest to spot in case there’s a tracker on mine?

My 4Runner was originally leased by a company; I bought it used at a local Ford dealer, whose parent company also owns a Toyota dealership.

There were no telltale signs. The first free weekend I had after I purchased it, I tore into the dash (wait...doesn't everyone do this?) to install some electrical mods, and saw a large ziptie behind the left side of the dash. Toyota does not use zipties for anything, so I looked to see what it was holding. Saw the tracker. I had also noticed a cable hanging lower than I thought it should, right above the parking brake. It was the OBDII daisy-chain cable that was connected to the tracker. Then I Googled the model number printed on it and found out what it was.

Plasti dipped the rear chrome bezel and replaced the 4runner letters with Toyota.
